Gods Unchained on the Chain

~ Month Long Contest & Giveaways ~

There are still a few days left to sign up for this free Play 2 Earn contest and giveaway. The first thing you need to do is have a MetaMask wallet preferably. If you have one, then you can sign up to Gods Unchained using my referral code: jWRdavBSqG from the Gods Unchained Website here.

Of course, you don't have to use my referral code at all. You can just sign up from the website directly. All you need is that wallet and an email. Once you get set up with that... then to play now it will have you download the launcher from Immutable. It is really much more simple than it sounds. Literally, it's just a few clicks away to start winning (even when you lose or just complete the tutorial at your own pace) NFT cards on the Ethereum blockchain.

No, you don't have to know anything about the blockchain or Ethereum. No, there aren't any gas fees to start or play. If you are wondering why i think you should join... well, it's for the free stuff!

Acid has organized a contest and giveaway with some massive loot for those that just give this game a go. The original Gods Unchained Hive Contest post is there at that link. All you have to do (after you have a Gods Unchained account) is put your username in a comment on that post.

Since the contest has gained quite a bit of traction as well as onboarded a great many new accounts... the prizes and rewards have also increased dramatically.

As of right now, you can go see the cards that will be given away and read about the process of how the contest will work throughout the rest of the month Updates and Details

I believe the two contest posts' rewards are going into the prize pool, which is hundreds of dollars at the moment. The initial prize pool has been doubled and is now sitting at 1000 Hive Backed Dollars and that's on top of the post payouts. There will also be a total of 16 badass cards being given away coming straight out of Acid's own collection.

As if that weren't enough... there is some pretty sweet curation going on for Gods Unchained content here in the Gods On Chain Community. This curation is a synergy to incentivize new users to Create 2 Earn and not just Play 2 Earn.

So, join the fun and enter the fray. You have nothing to lose and everything to gain. If you need help getting set up or started just let me know in the comments below. Just remember not to wait to get signed up and enter the contest. Even if you don't plan on starting immediately the sign-up period for the Hive Contest and Giveaways only has a couple of days left! Don't procrastinate this time and miss out.

In fact, you can even watch a tutorial from a Youtuber who is now on Hive. I watched this tutorial before i got started really playing the game and it was very helpful. I didn't even know that content creator had joined Hive and is now in the Gods On Chain Community! Super cool to see things all unfolding as they are. Here is the link to the Complete Starter's Guide video.

~ My Progress ~

Well, i wanted to finish this post by giving some of my own updates and thoughts on the game along with a bit of my progress. I still have a lot to learn... but i have finally found some victories! I left my screenshots in png format so you can zoom in if you want to look at anything in particular.

1a.png

These shots are from a few rounds i played this afternoon before starting to make this post. I think i have 25 wins and just barely over 200 cards now. I made it to some form of Meteor level 19. The levels so far have been described by metals and their purity. I think on my last post i had about 70 cards and was ranked level one or two.

1b.png

I have been playing the death god deck only so far. I don't think my best cards are in that area... but it's the one i have been playing. I did take some time to adjust my deck, instead of using the starter one they line up for you. Since making my own deck my win ratio has been way better. I have made two decks and i have a feeling they could both be optimized better. I will look forward to getting a new god power eventually... but for now i play the same one all the time. You will have to have a keen eye or play me to find out which one.

1c.png

I have figured out a few of the details that eluded me last time as far as the game mechanics go. I really like the Frontline Barricades and the walls that offer up a healthy defense pretty early on. They give me time to get things sorted without taking to much early damage against aggressive players... like this war god i played today.

1d.png

I tried to set myself up with low mana cards to be able to play them earlier in the game and get a fast start. I am still really learning the strategies that work best... but i have to say this has been super fun to figure out.

1e.png

It's hard for me to take time out of my gameplay to save the screenshots in real time... but i got these for you. That last game went pretty well. It was a nice challenge but i ended up winning. Sometimes these battles really come down to the wire. I have had more folks concede lately which means i must be doing something right!

1f.png

I won some more rewards and got to open up some more cards. You can't beat that! I didn't capture and share everything as that would be a bit redundant.

1g.png

Working my way up from Impact to Astral Meteorite rank. I figured i would show what it looks like after you win and the status bar goes up. Of course, i couldn't resist showing you the opening of that pack i had just won!

2a.png

I still don't know which packs are which and have a hard time telling which cards are what... but i can stack 'em up now and figure out the details later! hahaha

2b.png

More than a couple of these cards seemed pretty badass. I just added a couple of those Harvest Arachne cards to my custom deck. That Astric Implosion looks pretty devastatingly gangster as well. However, i will save that to add for a rainy day. I know the farther i get in ranks/levels the more difficult the competition will be. I can pivot when i get there. If it ain't broke... don't fix it is an old adage here where i come from.

~ Final Fight ~

This final battle wasn't looking so good. They got me down to 4 health on my god. They had outclassed me at all turns of the match. Every time i thought i had an upper hand they healed their god or wiped my board.

2c.png

I obviously didn't get that many screenshots from this match since i was so involved and under pressure. But, as you can see in the image above i ended up getting some headway.

2d.png

I was able to put a frontline wall up at the last second to stop the bleeding and deal the fatal Coup de grâce. It was one of the most intense comeback victory matches i have played so far. It hyped me up enough to finally make this post!

2e.png

That win put me into the Astral Meteorite realm and now it's onwards and upwards from here. I am rushing through this post so i can get back to playing! All those people that warned me this game could be addicting were absolutely correct.

~ My Final Thoughts ~

I have to say that after taking what little time i have had to watch the tutorial, learn a bit about the game and it's mechanics, and delve into actually playing has been quite rewarding. I have no idea how much my cards are worth or how much Eth in value i have gained. But the fun that i have had drudging through this steep learning curve have been well worth it.

GU blog art

I would encourage anyone and everyone reading this far to give it a go. Just suck it up and put your anxiety and fear to the side and just give it a shot. I loved playing Magic the Gathering with real cards and i have to say i have enjoyed this even more.

The strategies and tactics are the most fun to implement. It's as if Magic the Gathering and Splinterlands had an NFT Card Game Baby together. The music, the art, the gameplay... are all phenomenal. It's hard to imagine that the gains could be reall Crypto gains now and even more so in the future. I hope you all end up joining to play and entering the Hive Contest. Like i said... you have nothing to lose and everything to gain. I wish you all the best of luck... and now, i shall go play some more.

Thanks for taking the time to check out my post! I hope to see you all on the battlefield. Until next time, peace out!

There will also be a total of 16 badass cards being given away coming straight out of Acid's own collection.

btw, those 16 are just from the latest season, I don't dare count how many are in total in the post. My collection value is not going to like it! xD

Bro... why didn't i get in on this shit way back when! I wish you would have peer pressured me more! hahahaha I can't thank you enough for being so generous, not only with this contest but in general. I feel bad for your collection but so many are going to benefit. Hopefully, i can play like a mad man and be competitive! I doubt you will have time anytime soon... but it would be nice to go over my cards with you and help construct a deck of death! Thanks for all you do and for this initiative bro! Cheers

I will keep an eye out for your posts. Just don't recycle old content... as that's frowned upon. Read the community description and rules and post at your leisure! Looking forward to seeing what you share. =)

I totally agree! It's not just the earning that is fun but the actual playstyles and strategies that make the experience a fun challenge. I am sure it's even more of a great time once you figure out all the different elements. There is a lot of info to soak up... but it's not that much different from many other turn-based strategy card games. Thanks for stopping by and taking time to comment!

Oh I wish I'd had the time to enter this contest, maybe come January, when things slow a bit, I might dive back into the wonderful 'contest/challenge' world of Hive. Any good suggestions of which groups do the best ones, I'm assuming #alienarthive will do? @castleberry
