Girl from nowhere, Nanno. Pixelart
Hello! Today I bring you this digital painting about the Netflix series "Girl From Nowhere" and its main character Nanno. It has been a splendid discovery as I recently found it and started watching it. Undoubtedly an excellent series.
This series presents a compilation of several stories that shows us the dark side of the human being in each chapter. Nanno, the main character, participates as a kind of spirit or a vigilante angel who poses as a high school teenager and attends several schools to expose certain people who seem at first to be docile and normal but who hide aberrant secrets. Nanno provokes the characters to push them to the limit and find out if they will give in to their baser instincts or come to their senses. Beyond whether Nanno acts for good or bad, I like the fact that she is arbitrary and like Karma itself, this is neither good nor bad, it just is what it is (something Nanno constantly affirms with the phrase "Nanno is Nanno"). So it seems to me an excellent anthology about human beings and that portrays many realities, always leaving an open space for the viewer to decide (as the characters must do) if what has been seen on screen is correct or not and what to take from it.
¡Hola! El día de hoy les traigo esta pintura digital sobre la serie de Netflix, "Girl From Nowhere" y su protagonista Nanno. Ha sido un descubrimiento espléndido pues hace poco la encontré y comencé a verla. Sin duda una excelente serie.
Esta serie presenta una recopilación de varias historias que nos muestra el lado oscuro del ser humano en cada capítulo. Nanno, el personaje principal, participa como una especie de espíritu o ángel justiciero que se hace pasar por una adolescente de secundaria y asiste a varias escuelas para exponer a ciertas personas que parecen en un principio ser dóciles y normales pero que esconden secretos aberrantes. Nanno provoca a los personajes para llevarlos al límite y saber si estos cederán a sus bajos instintos o recapacitaran. Más allá de si Nanno actúa para bien o para mal, me gusta el hecho de que es arbitraria y como el mismísimo Karma, este no es ni bueno ni malo, solo es lo que es (algo que Nanno afirma constantemente con la frase "Nanno es Nanno"). Por lo cual me parece una excelente antología sobre los seres humanos y que retrata muchas realidades, dejando siempre un espacio abierto para que el espectador decida (tal y como los personajes deben hacer) si lo que se ha visto en pantalla es correcto o no y que sacar de ello.
Now I will show you how I made this painting. The first thing I have done is the lace, as it is a portrait, I had to throw a lot of lines that will help me to structure the character, Nanno.
Ahora les enseñaré cómo realice esta pintura. Lo primero que he hecho es el encaje, como se trata de un retrato, he tenido que lanzar muchas líneas que me ayudarán a estructurar al personaje, Nanno.
Then I shaped the head and hair. Nanno has thick black hair and a fringe that hides part of his face. So it wouldn't look so straight and would look more organic, with some movement.
Luego le di forma a la cabeza y el cabello. Nanno tiene una cabellera negra abundante y un flequillo que oculta parte de su rostro. Para que no luciera tan recto y se viera más orgánico, con algo de movimiento.
Then I moved on to the torso. Placing his typical white uniform with some lights and shadows in shades of reds and grays.
Después pasé al torso. Colocando su típico uniforme blanco con algunas luces y sombras en tonos de rojos y grises.
Cuando por fin tengo el cuerpo completo, empiezo con la expresión del rostro. Nanno tiene siempre esa expresión pícara y divertida, como si estuviera tramando algo. Esa sonrisa torcida es característica de ella. Así que intente captar eso, lo cual es difícil en este estilo de pintura ya que la cantidad de pixeles es limitada y no me puedo detener en detalles minúsculos.
Cuando por fin tengo el cuerpo completo, empiezo con la expresión del rostro. Nanno tiene siempre esa expresión pícara y divertida, como si estuviera tramando algo. Esa sonrisa torcida es característica de ella. Así que intente captar eso, lo cual es difícil en este estilo de pintura ya que la cantidad de pixeles es limitada y no me puedo detener en detalles minúsculos.
Finally I added some more details and for the background I chose a red color and big black letters, which are part of the introduction of each chapter. Here is the original result and some others with editing.
Finalmente agregue algunos detalles más y para el fondo elegi un color rojo y grandes letras en negro, que forman parte de la introducción de cada capítulo. He aquí el resultado original y algunas otras con edición.

It should be noted that the character of Nanno reminds me a lot of the characters Junji Ito, Japanese horror mangaka, for example, with his manga "Tomie". I leave below a reference image. It also reminds me of the anime Hell Girl, which is about a girl who represents death and helps those who want to take revenge on someone in exchange for his soul. This kind of dilemma, about deciding right or wrong, is the inspiration for "Girl from nowhere". So, if you like this style of stories and characters, you will surely like the series.
