HE WHO MAKES A BEAST OUT OF HIMSELF, GETS RID OF THE PAIN OF BEING A MAN

How about that for an intro line. A famous quote actually, from Samuel Johnson. A quote, that is used, in the song Bat Country, by Avenged Sevenfold. The first song i ever heard heard by my favorite band, that i have spoken of before.

Yes, recycling my favorite pic of me and my guitar, same guitar that the guitarist from the band uses. Its his signature model. On to the jams and the hams.

AVENGED SEVENFOLD

  • 1st Tune

  • Bat Country - City of Evil album

  • What a cut. Starts off with a good old fashioned, scream intro. Not too deathy, but definitely a heavy metal song. Chunky riffs, good harmony solos. Quick drumbeat, with complex bits. I used to try and sing along with this song, to try and get all the screams down as best as i could. A heck of a voice, a little nasal, and some may be turned off by his voice. He does have a good range, low to high, and lyrics are good in my opinion. Tells a story, catchy chorus, i love it.

Caught here in a fiery blaze, wont lose my will to stay.
I try, to drive all through the night, the heat stroke ridden weather, the barren, empty sights.
No oasis, here to seee. The sand is singing deathly words to meeee.
etc.

  • 2nd Tune

  • St. James Hail to the King album

  • Another banger, in remembrance of their drummer who died around the time frame of about 2010 or so. Since this album is a few years after city of evil, their sound is a little different but still also very much the original Avenged recipe of good riffs, solos and lyrics. I love this one.

Raise hell and a glass of reverence.

  • 3rd Tune

  • Save Me - Nightmare album

  • Another banger, but i would say that about almost every Avenged song. A very long song. This album was middle of their career, before hail to the king actually. First 1 min of instrumental. Bring in those riffs and solos. Rad solo actually, nice and shreddy.

  • Long list of lyrics of couse but if youre interested or just hanging out, feel free give it a listen. Solid 9 mins i believe

  • I hope you enjoy. Its tough for anyone to try different music sometimes, im stuck on avenged and some others past 10 years.

  • Shoutout to @sagesigma, @blanchy, @ablaze for three tune tuesday.

My music taste has changed drastically over the years but damn do them songs bring back some good memories, used to be heavy into rock growing up and these kind of tunes make me feel nostalgic, throws me way back with memories

Gotta say So Far Away is probably my favourite song from the band, beautiful song.

Rock on brotha, have a great day 🤘

Hey man, nice tunes again, sorry I missed curation - I'll upvote another one of your posts now instead. We used to house share with a guy from Majorca who listened to similar music around fifteen years ago, he was a big Dreamtheatre fan. Maybe you've heard of them?
