Buying some land and becoming a farmer, for better or worse, in Dcrops.
Tis I, farmer Quack, and i am on a new adventure. Been seeking a 3rd play 2 earn game next to Splinterlands and Rising star. In honor of @libertycrypto27 because he is a badass, and ive seen his breakdown of his investment in dcrops. After looking around and testing my login, i decided to dip my webbed duck feet in. I learned that there are nft cards of course, to collect and use in game.
FARMLAND
Me being part duck, part madman, have already bought some land pieces, and i just had to get the hi tech land, which is like legendary. Also an epic land, and fertile land (rare), and a couple average land pieces. Each have their boosts the better the land.

I began with just the average but i started thinking that i should just go gung-ho. Whether it pays off or not will be the question.
Once purchased the NFTs show up in game easily.
SEEDS
Now that we have land to plant, we need seeds of course. There are the commons, the epic (awesome) and legendary accordingly.
I bought a raspberry seed. The season depends on what can be planted. Theres a system in place that has to do with what you harvest within the season. Your harvest is sold for shares i believe, and when season ends you are rewarded proportionately in CROP (hive engine token). Kind of a lot to it, so a lot to explain. Again, because im a madman, im jumping in on good cards right from the gate.
Once planted it will come up with some stats.
Other seeds i grabbed was beetroot, pumpkin, and carrot.
The overall U.I (use interface) is pretty basic. Was slightly hard to navigate at first, but just a day later i had scoped things out and figured out how to buy DCALPHA packs, which can be bought in hive engine and opened in game, similar to Splinterlands.
Otherwise besides the pack i bought, i chose to buy separate cards in NFTMart, which i learned of from Rising Star.
Easy to use and connects with Keychain. Easy to buy packs in Rising Star here as well.
There are also quests to complete for bonus. Although i have yet to harvest anything. Its my 3rd day of dabbling and im done buying anything else for now. I may have just spent $90 usd. I will consider that my initial investment. I wont expect to make it back soon. With some calculating, its possible a few weeks, few months, maybe a year until i cover my 90 bucks. So it will be a mission.
Also noticed that @lordtimoty is chillin in the leaderboard. Glad to see you there pal.

Hmmm, not that bro. Never heard of it. This game is dcrops. I just got my 1st little harvest. Seems to be a more slower pace game though.

To me happens the same, I started with a few from these so-called Play to Earn games, but I can't keep up following all the changes they make all the time. I stick with Earth2 since I really keep on earning some money with it (which I reinvest, maybe I shouldn't...), there is still a lot of progress after over a year (and a lot more to come) and it doens't take me too much time...
I'm certainly not going to start with another one and will try to finish with the rest or leave them for a while. Want to concentrate a bit more on Hive, like I'm doing the past weeks and I think I'll be growing my account here a lot faster than I was till let's say 2-3 weeks ago, so that's a good thing!

Yep - I bought in at the start of this season. The game showed up in Peakd games list in my wallet, and I thought, that might be a catalyst for the game's growth. I'm not expecting to make a lot along the way, but feel like the NFT price may keep pushing up. Looks like there are still some early early early players holding a shitload of cards that control the market - when their supply is gone, I would expect things to be a bit more responsive to player uptake.
