Splinterlands Land Report, Market Update and Weekly Resource Snapshot!
Good morning Splinterfriends!!
With all the HYPE surrounding Conclave Arcana right now, Land may take a sideseat for a moment... a backburner... a runner up... a... you get the point...
However, as your trusty explorer of Praetoria and Reporter of Deeds... I shall endeavor to remain ever vigilant in these times... even though we may not see much activity on the front of Plots Claimed/Surveyed... or wild Market Swings as we have seen before...
Make no mistake, there is a lot happening and with the announcement in the Town Hall of the Midnight Potions... There is finally a use for Research!! Which I don't have a lot of... but whatever... People still need to eat... GRAIN FTW!!!!!!
Let's go see what's happened over the last week!!
Not terrible - 7 days, 6 Plots... holding steady to the ~ 1 Plot/day average I've seen over the months I've been keeping track 😊
So let us not waste any time and head out into the Wilds of Praetoria to see what has been Claimed and Surveyed in the last week!!
Our first stop, as usual, is to pickup where we left off last time... in this case we are headed to Region 143 Dryae Tor, Tract 2, Plot 46!
Plot 46 was a Rare Natural Forest owned by @mightylileng but now is owned by @giannelo - who has built a nice Logging Camp on it and is harvesting Wood at about 36.5 Wood/hour!
Nice work Giannelo, I hope to see more of your Land around here! Off we go, into the forest... to find the NEW Land discovered this week!
Plot 47 is @mightylileng with ANOTHER Rare Forest... but this one... is Magic! Nice find there my buddy ol' pal!! Rare Magic [Earth] Forest for you, pulling in 1.386 Research per hour!

Plot 48 is a new face around here... @dantrin with the Common Natty Forest! There's nothing going on here... but I hope to see more soon!

Plot 52 is a Common Natural Forest owned by @reconnectnature - which is fitting due to their name 😁

Resource prices continue their downward trend this morning as Praetorian Markets are trying to find a floor... who knows where the bottom is... at least Grain is relatively stable though!
Grain has punched through the 1 DEC = 100+ Grain and is trading at 1 DEC = 106 Grain currently...
The prices of Resources were already speculative to begin with... but with Conclave Arcana just around the corner... the introduction of Midnight Potions and everything else going on... ALL BETS ARE OFF!!
My personal focus is still on Grain Production... but who knows if that will pay off!!
Wood put up another 11% drop as we try to find a floor with the Land 1.75 Resources. Azircon commented last time stating, to paraphrase: without a real use, these resources will get stockpiled until Land 2.0 which will drive prices down... and it's looking like he was right!
PP Based Pricing Metrics are 4:1 Grain:Wood so if we measured prices with our PP's then Wood should be trading at roughly 4 x 9.361 DEC or 37.444 DEC per Kilo, so Wood seems to be quite undervalued trading at less than half that at 17.758 DEC/Kilo!
The Price of stone slipped almost 6% this week, trading at 77.683 DEC per Kilo. Prices continue to try and find a floor... but with Midnight Potions now becoming a thing... we might see them rise? MAYBE? At least stabilize right!?! PLEASE!!!! lol who knows at this point...
PP Based Metrics are 10:1 Grain:Stone so a PP based price would have Stone priced at 93.61 so Stone at 77.683 DEC per Kilo might be a bargain? Or it might plummet... Can't be sure lmao
This is certainly not financial advice as we are talking about the economies of a video game but hey, here's the data, I hope it helps 🤷♂
Iron prices fell the least, posting a 3% loss this week as we attempt to find a bottom here in the Praetorian ComEx. It is currently trading at a little over 243 DEC per Kilo
Keep in mind Iron is the hardest Resource to acquire, requiring a LOT of effort to extract it. Grain has a .02PP Requirement whereas Iron is .0005 or 40X harder to Mine! Will this transfer a premium to Iron? Who knows! We're just over a week in and this is EXCITING!!
PP Based Price Metrics put Iron at 40:1 Grain:Iron so that would mean if Grain:DEC is trading at 9.361 DEC Kilo of Grain, then Iron should be 374.44 DEC per Kilo or so but all bets are off at this point!
Hey look! They got their own section!! This is a simple breakout highlighting whether or not a Resource is trading Over/Under their PP Based Price. Perhaps it will act as a Market Indicator to let us know if a resource is Under/Overvalued at present????
Here's another handy dandy chart - I think aggroed and others are posting something super similar to this as well so I love having more than one person looking at this data!
At the end of the day, the Market will Market... but at least we have some people who are actively tracking an analyzing the data!
