Soulkeep - rewards paused again... the future of this game?

Good morning Splinterfriends and my fellow Soulkeepers!

As many of you may know, Soulkeep has paused the $SPS Rewards for their Tournaments... again.

Last time I was pretty upset that they were shutting off rewards because of how much people, including myself, invested in Packs and Cards...

However... they voted...the Rewards were saved, things were promised and rewards resumed...

But... the condition for this was Double Coconut was going to make improvements, work on communication, not create "bottlenecks" or "chokepoints" in Reward Levels, etc...

The immediate concerns were ironed out, a reset was done, talk of seasons were in the Discord, there were many things discussed...

Multi accounts were mostly addressed, randomness was added back into the game and things went back to mostly normal... except we had lost the majority of the player base due to so many issues over the last 9 months...

So here we are again - April Second, 2025... with this, outta nowhere:

The "outta nowhere" is no longer surprising due to the absolute baffling lack of communication from Double Coconut aka DC.

I mean, they probably had to put "The Studio that owns Soulkeep" because of their lack of presence in the Discord channel...

Last time, I rallied behind the game and fought for the return of the SPS Rewards because I do like the game, I do think it has promise and I enjoy playing it...

However, I completely understand the decision to suspend Rewards this time and I can only hope and pray that a mutual decision is reached that benefits all parties... even if that decision is a buyout by a more capable company or studio.

As of right now, myself and a number of other players are sitting on a chunk of unusable cards... which is another issue that has been brought up countless times...

Why the hell isn't there a "Freeplay" mode? Like, I just want to play... but not get rewarded...

I can "Battle"... but that only has 5 Gateways and then you're done until you level up...

As soon as you complete these... you can't even play right now... which is kind of dumb...

Couldn't we have Tournaments, with NO COST AND NO REWARDS? That way we could play... However, despite how many times players had suggested a "freeplay" mode... it never happened... so many people are stuck right now, with no way to play a game we enjoy.
