Renter-Lands 2 - Common Plot Boogaloo????
What's up Land peeps - it's your buddy CaptainDingus with a bit a of a late night article...
Tbf it's only 9:37pm as I start typing this but that's late for me as I have worked well over a 12h day.
However, in my last post, I showed a viable and profitable renting strategy for Landowners!!!
But, as it was pointed out by some of my friends on here - Legendary Lands are VERY EXPENSIVE...
So I said... gee I wonder if COMMON PLOTS could be profitable to Rent Cards to work them!?!
Read on to find out!
The test: Let's say we start with the basics... we buy our first Plot and it's a "Grain Plot" because we will be self sustaining from the jump!
Common Grain Floor:
It looks as if the Common Grain Plot floor is $15 - although there's only one of those...
So... what does a Max RF Legendary Worker rent out for???
Ok that's perfect - cheap labor secured!!
Now - let's see what kind of Grain we produce and if we can turn a profit... and at what cost...
Produce: 165 Grain/hour
Tax: 10% (-16.5 Grain)
Consume: 75 Grain/hour
Net Grain/hour: 165 - 16.5 - 75 = 73.5 Grain/hour
Net Grain/day: 73.5 * 24 = 1,764 Grain/day = 16.88 DEC/day
DEC/day = 16.88
Rental Expense: 5 DEC/day
Profit: 16.88 DEC/day - 5 DEC = 11.88 DEC/day Profit!!
While I am glad we just learned we CAN do this... the question now becomes... SHOULD we do this...
Let's consider the costs:
$15 for Plot
5 DEC/day for Workers
5k DEC for Powerplant
I feel like something is missing... oh right... of course...
So... if we tie up:
$15 + $3.50 + 5 DEC/day + $37.50 = $56 + 5 DEC/day...
We can earn... 11.88 DEC/day
So while it DOES work... you could just buy $56 worth of playable cards and rent them out for WAY MORE than 11.88 DEC/day lol
@seattlea and @unitmaster - there you have it! Conclusive proof that you CAN do it... but you probably SHOULDN'T lmao
Next time - we can check Rare + Epic Plots as I am off to bed!!

Nice summary 😉. The original comment was about whether it is worth buying a card instead of renting just for working on lands. Although renting these cards is the cheapest initial investment for lands, it's still not too profitable. However, it's still better than buying them for an additional ~$25.
I think @seattlea or @unitmaster made the observation that Legendary Lands were pretty pricey - so it's not likely that a new player would have some just laying around.
That's why I checked on Common Plots and RF Legendary Rentals :)
I just found the previous article after reading this. It seems that this land business is primarily the high rollers' toy 🙂

Well if you already have a common plot and have DEC you can lock up maybe it is not a bad idea to rent some legendary cards...
I hate to say it but the juice =/= the squeeze at this time
Lets say you had 50k DEC... you could lock it up and rent cards for a net 11.88 DEC/D Income...
Or... buy these 5 Bellowmancers for 50k DEC:
Rent them out at 8 DEC/Day each and make 40 DEC/Day 🙌
Just one many examples that outperform the Common Plot at this time - that may change later though!
