Land Cards and the MASSIVE *POSITIVE* impact they've had on the Splinterlands Ecosystem!

Ok Splinterfriends,

It's been a couple days since the release of the first "Land Cards" and I think everyone was both excited and extremely curious as to what would actually happen with them...

As with anything new, this group of loveable misfits we call a community always has a wide range of opinions from "THIS IS THE DUMBEST THING EVER" to "GLORY BE TO THE SPLINTERGODS!!"

I fall right in line with them for when my luck borders on "Extreme Unluckiness" I get kinda bitchy about it - but I usually reserve that for the extremes.

I don't think any of us had an idea of what would precisely happen but here's what DID happen...

Days 1-3, the "Allocation Period"

In my eyes, this is brilliant and ensures the Guppy and the Whale have the same opportunity to Mint their cards - no single person can just take all of them because they have the funds.

During this time, I minted my Farmhands, Druids, Oxen and Miner - selling the Miner and Druids because I wanted to buy more Farmhands and Oxen when they came down...

Well... it's after the allocation period and the prices AREN'T COMING DOWN... yet...?

image.png

I would really like to get some more Oxen but I only produce so much Aura 😔

Anyways... as the Allocation Period came to an end... we all hovered near our keyboards with Resources and Cinder in the chamber... @thelunacysystem posted screenshots just prior and managed to effectively "Bookmark" the end of the Allocation Period:

HUGE SHOUTOUT TO @peakmonsters @jarvie and @asgarth for getting the "Burn For Cinder" function up and running on Peakmonsters as fast as they did!

The Free for All Mint Phase

The timer counted down, it hit :10... :05... :01... I hit refresh... I waited anxiously and when it loaded a few seconds later THOUSANDS of Farmhands had been minted in that first refresh!!!

I pressed Mint and BOOM 292 Farmhands were mine!! I combined these to max out 1 singular Farmhand and then scrounged up a few more resources for an extra copy or two...

About 20 minutes goes by... The counter drops by a seemingly impossible number and then @vugtis posts this in the Discord Channel - Tavern:

image.png

Sweet baby Jesus, he minted twenty six THOUSAND CC of the Farmhand... 😵😵😵

The Tavern went BANANAS and it was awesome to be a part of that... within 30 minutes... THE ENTIRE SUPPLY of 100,000 Tireless Farmhands... had been minted!

That left us with Druids, Oxen and Miners - oh my! At this point, most people had blown all their resources and Cinder... and the shock of the massive Resource/Card Burn was becoming readily apparent.

As @azircon is fond of doing - this can be effectively demonstrated with a few charts and data. In fact, I will use some of AZ's charts from Tavern and Jarvies Data to illustrate the first observable effect: Resource Prices

I mentioned something about the Resource Shock in chat and Jarvie threw a fantastic Datasheet up for us:

image.png

That's over Two BILLION Grain Burned... TWO BILLION!!

300M Wood... POOF!!
36M Stone... 16M Iron... GONE...
38M Aura... VANISHED!!

But... more importantly... almost 86 Million Cinder was used... which means nearly 60 Million CP of Cards were burned... SIXTY MILLION CP...

That's over 28,500 Max RF Commons... that no longer exist... that's more than 11 Million Commons that vanished...

Now, we know that it wasn't JUST Commons... but still... that's a TON of cards that no longer exist...

Resource and Card Shock

The first noticeable effect was of course the Resource Shock as everyone scrambled to get as much ready for the Mint...

Azircon showed us in a few handy plots exactly why Resources had gone up... and then nearly DOUBLED in just a few days...

But there have been other effects we are just starting to see... here are a few I have observed:

  1. Card Price - the "Base Price" for a "Junk Card" has nearly doubled due to the burn for Cinder
  2. Wagon Prices have spiked due to the lack of Wood
  3. A weird one... RENTAL PRICES have shot up due to Card Burn!! Check your rentals folks!! You may be greatly undervaluing your cards!!

Land prices are wildly fluctuating with Grainlands being the Primo cards still... Let us keep an eye out for what happens next as resources flood the market due to the impact the Land Cards have on increasing efficiency :)

In the meantime... I'm going to go rip open a few CL Packs for Cinder, hit a quick harvest and Mint a few more Land Workers!!

Thank you AZ, Jarvie & Crew and not to mention @beaker007 for the fantastic site: Land.Spl-Stats

That's all I have for you today folks!! Thank you for reading and I would LOVE for you to join me in game!!
