Conclave Arcana and the looming Firesale + SPS Price Action :)
Good morning Splinterfriends!
I am writing this piece today in the hopes that some of the new players will be able to take advantage of what's about to happen... probably - so please help me spread the word!
There are going to be several parts to this post and the events will play out relatively quickly over the next week to two weeks...
If you're new, this is a GREAT OPPORTUNITY!!! So BE PREPARED, take advantage of the situation and I hope this helps you understand "what is happening and why..." plus allow you to ride out the aftermath without stressing!
I have been in Crypto for a long time and it's been a WILD ride... throughout my time here I've done some cool things and have managed to not only REALLY screw up my opportunities... but life kicked me in the nuts a few times at REALLY BAD TIMES... But I'm not here to whine about that...
Let's focus on my time here in Splinterlands and why I might know a thing or two about what's going to happen... probably...
Just after Untamed sold out and card prices were INSANE... I found this game thanks to my friend @cryptodollabill.
I thought this game looked really cool and as a long time Magic: the Gathering player + Gamer... I saw potential in the Play2Earn mechanic! I LOVED the P2E mechanic!!
So I took my profits from a Shib trade and YEETED them at Splinterlands!
That was October of 2021... Alt Season was raging, the Bull Market was sunsetting and Chaos Legion was on the Horizon for Splinterlands...
After that... well... things went south for Crypto and REALLY SOUTH for Splinterlands... but there were pockets of awesome in there!!!
Most importantly, dispersed in the "pockets of awesome"... there were some KEY LESSONS to be learned over the last three and a half years...
Those lessons... are what I am going to share with you today... Because while it won't be "EXACTLY" the same... there will be similarities... and if you look for the opportunities, armed with this knowledge... you might end up pleasantly surprised... or at least not confused and angry about what's happening lol
Ok... enough about me... let's get into the good stuff!
First and foremost... If you're a New Player, you may be wondering "what on Earth is going on with the price of $SPS and $DEC"???
Or you may be thinking "HAHAHA I AM SO SMART I NAILED THIS"... which is fine... but just know while the Token may finally be turning around... this particular Price Action is fueled by the Tokenomics of SPS and players getting ready to Sell/Swap/Burn $SPS for $DEC to buy the new set: Conclave Arcana
I personally expect the price to continue to climb as we approach the Presale phase of Conclave Arcana - which begins APRIL 22ND!

This presale phase will run until May 11th and in addition to the killer new set... there are LOTS OF REWARDS for buying into the Presale... which is why people are buying/holding/stacking $SPS... contributing to the rise in price.
Unfortunately, what goes up... must come down, right? Right. Before/During/After the Presale starts... we will probably see a drop in SPS price due to people selling/swapping it over to DEC... but this is to be expected and should not cause any alarm or panic... as long as you're aware of what's happening and why...
The Second part of this article is to offer insight and reminder to New Players and Vets alike!

Like... A LOT is happening and that's exciting!!
However... unless we can print money like the Federal Reserve... we must budget our finite amount of resources...
Over the next week - two weeks? Timeframe on this is tough... technically... it's ALWAYS happening... but over the next two weeks or so... it's going to happen A LOT.
What opportunity am I talking about? "Firesales" or "SUPER DISCOUNTED CLEARANCE ITEMS"
As people are shifting SPS/DEC/FIAT around to prepare for the Presale... they are probably going to look at their current Splinterlands Assets and think:
"Hmmmmm I don't really need this Card/Land/Item... I can sell it quickly for some extra DEC!"
This is where YOU need to be prepared... You need to decide RIGHT NOW... if you are going to be going "ALL IN" on Conclave Arcana... or... will you snipe some sweet Cards/Land/Items you've been hoping to get for a long time...
Obviously, you can do both - if you partition your funds, set a budget and have a modicum of self control/discipline...
If you are savvy, make sure you are keeping your eyes open or setting "stink bids" at 20-30% discounts on Wild Cards from Untamed and stuff... because once CA releases... these opportunities are going to go back to being extremely rare!
All in all there are two primary things to be aware of...
- SPS Price will go up... then make a sharp turn down... probably
- There is going to be a VERY limited window of opportunity to get HUGE DISCOUNTS on cards/assets as people make a hasty decision to "scrap" them for extra DEC to prep for CA!
But perhaps you're still asking "Why all the craziness over the PRESALE"?
Well... it's not just because of the cards... The Presale offers a lot of BONUS REWARDS for taking part in it!
Last time, when Rebellion had its presale... two cards were given to Presale buyers as a "Bonus"... Have you seen the price of those stupid things????
That's right... 1 BCX of Mantaroth is still $40! A MAX copy of 11 BCX is STILL OVER $300!!!
Grim... Still clinging to $4/BCX... That's WILD... But to get the cheapest Max Level Grim on the market... $500!
That's INSANE - they've held their value for SO LONG... and they were ONLY GIVEN OUT TO THOSE WHO PARTICIPATED IN THE REBELLION PRESALE!!
Just think... if you had purchased 2k Rebellion Packs during the Presale... you'd be able to get back 15% of that cost JUST FROM THE PROMOS... not to mention CONFLICTS, RENTALS, BATTLES and more...
Like many, I got slaughtered by Chaos Legion and the lackluster Promos/Airdrops... plus the Bear Market came around and kicked the shit out of everyone and...
However... 3.5 years later... I've written lots of Peak'd articles, saved rewards, played a lot of Splinterlands, Soulkeep and DCA'd my way into a nice stash of $SPS so let me be clear...
I probably won't be able to make it to the top six, to design a Summoner... but maybe one day I'll be able to chip in on a card design!!
On top of the two Promo Cards for the Presale (which are AWESOME)...
There will be a LEADERBOARD for the whales (I probably won't be on this lol)
On top of those incredible rewards... there will be a RAFFLE afterwards! These prizes are crazy too!!
Oh my God... these are crazy prizes... I mean... even a shot at the Black Foil Arcane Rare Promo is good enough... but TEN OF THEM??????????????? NOT TO MENTION THE CHANCE TO WIN A BLACK FOIL ARCANE "GRAMEL THE HUNGER"!!!!
Seriously though... the Gold Foil Arcane and Black Foil Arcane cards look AWESOME!!!
Anyways... I've been here, through ups and downs... lots of downs... but I didn't leave... and things are looking up!
Just be prepared for these opportunities and be aware of what is likely to happen over the next few weeks!!
