Card Merging in MoonKarts is the Key Towards Efficient Fuel Generation!

In MoonKarts, your performance on the track isn’t just about driving skill—it’s deeply shaped by the cards you hold. Every in-game asset is represented as a card, and these come in four rarities: Common, Rare, Epic, and Legendary. Common cards are plentiful and provide baseline abilities; they are what most players will use early on to get familiar with racing mechanics. Rare cards begin to add special attributes or enhanced features; Epic cards are harder to come by and bring game-changing abilities, while Legendary cards are the crown jewels, with extraordinary power and prestige reserved for elite players or major achievements.
But rare cards alone don’t guarantee dominance. That’s why MoonKarts includes a merging system—simple in concept, but powerful in practice. You can upgrade any card (regardless of its rarity) via Merging: combining duplicates or similar cards to raise levels, unlock new functions, and improve performance. As cards level up, their stats or abilities get a boost, which means better rewards in races or greater impact when competing.
There’s also a special twist: Gold Foil Cards. These are rare variants of the standard cards. When you open a pack, any given card has a chance to become Gold Foil. Gold Foil versions carry bonuses beyond the normal card: they require fewer cards to level up, and their reward contributions are higher. If you stack multiple gold-foil cards into your kart setup, their bonuses compound. This mechanic subtly rewards long-term collectors, and it adds an incentive to seek rarer versions rather than simply more cards.

One point of anticipation: while the basic merging and rarity system is clear, MoonKarts is still refining some of the exact numbers and modifiers tied to merging (how much bonus per level, or how rarity impacts performance metrics). Those finer details will be released closer to launch.
In short, MoonKarts’ card rarity and merging mechanics offer depth and strategy: which cards you collect, how you upgrade them, and whether you can acquire gold-foil versions all matter. It’s a system designed to reward both skill and dedication, so players who understand how to build and merge smartly will gain a real edge.
