Got Lucky! Weekly Fortune Draw & My First Win with the Black Foil Card

After many weeks of partaking in the weekly fortune draw, Emp-warden got lucky today and pulled a Black foil Card! You know, after checking the reward for multiple weeks and not winning anything, I stopped hoping and didn't put much effort into it again. I failed to pull one when I had a 600-plus entries ticket, but was able to pull one with just a little above 300 ticket, which means luck has a bigger role to play in it.

Pixie-Knife hurler was the card I got, and only 3 blackfoil out of 50 have been minted and given to players. This rekindles my hope of taking the weekly fortune draw seriously in the hope of getting more black foil cards.

This monster has 5 abilities!

Close range: Being a range attacker, this ability gives it the ability to attack from the front position, so no weakness for being a range monster.

Dodge: This ability gives it a 25% chance to evade attacks from other monsters, especially melee and range attackers

Swiftness: Add +1 speed to all allied units

Enfeeble: This causes -1 to the melee power of the monster it attacked successfully, and it keeps reducing it by 1 with every attack.

Heal: This is the last ability and also the best, but it is only granted at max level

The interesting part is that this card belongs to the Ulund Bloodline, which means I would be able to use it in the Ulund Bloodline tribute Synergy battle. I could not wait before I tested it in a battle.

So I was paired with a liquidity bot in a 3 ruleset...

The first rule was Arcane Dampening which indicates that all monsters have the void ability. The second rule was Are you not entertained which indicates one gladiator monster can be used, and the last rule was Aimless All monsters have the scattershot ability...

The last rule almost made me think twice about using the Ulund synergy, but I was eager to test the newly acquired card, so I went ahead with the formation.

The opponent used a dual summoner to summon the life and earth monsters, while I used Bella Ratajowlski, the father of the Ulund [summoner], to summon its children.

My formation

Moribund Arrowbait was my first monster and it is the power house of the Ulund bloodline, without its bloodline tribute, the Ulund will remain their normal self but with the tribute, their powers get boosted and beast mode activated, the second monster was Commander golf and I used it because of its resurrect ability to further boost the ulund power, unfortunately the moribund was not the first monster to die so it was not used to ressurect it.

Mystic Mudbinder and Pixie-knife Hurler were the monsters I placed in the third and fourth position; both can heal, so I am sure it will take a while to be defeated by the opponent team and I was right, there were undeafeated till the end of the battle and most important both cards were blackfoil which increases the amount of sps I got for winning the battle.

My last two monsters were Thunderous Herald and Gramel the Hunger, and they are also Ulund! Herald was the first to die, but it was resurrected by Commander Golf, while Gramel did amazingly well with its triple strike, and contributed to me winning the battle.

In the end, my plan on triggering the bloodline tribute didn't work, but my monsters are still capable of winning without unlocking the beast in them, and I won! Even though I lost 2 monsters[ Commander golf and Pixie-Knife hurler] Pixie did try to make it, but it was afflicted by the opponent and stopped from healing

I was given 6160 glint and 80 sps for this battle, which is more as a result of the black foils I used.

Black foils have a big impact on earnings, so thanks to Splinterlands for the Black foil reward card.
