Explosive weaponry Ruleset Strategy Guide: Win More Battles the Smart Way

Some rules make the team vulnerable if one doesn't come up with a better strategy to counter them, and one of those rules is Explosive Weaponry

It is a rule that all monsters have the blast ability, which does 50% damage to units adjacent to their target. There are a few ways to protect the team from this rule, or should I say, there are two other abilities that can protect the monsters from the blast.

_{Deflect & Deflection Shroud}

The two logos may look alike but they are not the same. The first one is Deflect, which makes monsters that have it to have zero damage on corrosive ward, thorns, magic reflect, return fire, and blast while the second logo is Deflection shroud, monsters with this ability give their adjacent units the deflect ability.

Using summoner or monster with the deflect ability: In the modern format, the only summoners with the Deflect stat are Bella Ratajowlski and Reklah. Bella is a life summoner, and it is good for this rule because all the monsters summoned by it get the deflect ability, while Reklah only gives 2 selected monsters the ability.

Sometimes, we players love to spice things up using a formation that the opponent would not expect, and this is what I did in the battle shared below.

I was paired with a champ account in a 3-rule battle, including Explosive Weaponry; the other two rules were:

• Armored up: All monsters gain +2 armor.

• Aimless: All units have the scattershot ability, which makes the magic and range monsters attack randomly without a specific target.

The opponent used Bella Ratajowlski summoner as expected, but my formation was different and I don't think he expected it... Our tactic was kinda the same cos we both protected our team from the blast rule, but differently, hold onto your popcorn while I take you on a ride on the position of my monsters and the reason I use this strategy.

My Formation

Oridum Graybrow was my tank. He was placed as the first card because of his resurgence ability, which gives me the confidence that if he is eliminated, he will resurrect and the opponent will try to defeat him again. Fortunately, the scattershot rule will make it harder for the opponent to eliminate him. Even though I lost him towards the end but he served his purpose.

Umbral Elemental was my second monster, and the main reason for using it is because of the Deflection Shroud, it gives the two adjacent units to it [ Oridum and Kelan] the deflect ability, making it impossible to be affected by the blast rule set. Even though the Umbral has the taunt ability, it won't be targeted because of the aimless rule.

Kelan Gaines was my third monster, one of my favorite cards, because it has the double strike ability. It is one of my main attackers in this battle, and it didn't disappoint at all. and it was protected by the Umbral Deflection shroud.

Barashkukor was my fourth monster; it had 6 magic attacks and was able to eliminate 3 out of the 6 monsters used by the opponent... It is one of the monsters I love using in battle due to its massive magic power. It was also protected from the blast by another monster with a deflection shroud, which is my fifth monster.

The Deep Delver was my fifth monster and the second monster with the Deflection Shroud, which protects my 4th and 6th monsters from the blast damage. Delver also has a corrupted healing ability, which restores 70% of all the team but reduces their max health by 1.

Gramel the Hunger was my last card and was also protected from the blast. It has all the modes of attack, which helped weaken the opponent team, plus its 'relentless strike' made it easier to penetrate the opponent's monsters.

The opponent formation was good, just that my formation was better, and hence my victory.
