Impressions of the new Conclave Arcana reward card set: The real chase begins now! - Community engagement challenge [Enp/Eng]
Hello Splinterlands and Hivers friends, on Tuesday, the surprise announcement was made of a new set of cards that we can obtain from Loot Chests or directly from the Glint Shop. This is the successor set to the current Rebellion reward cards. It caught my attention because the news on X mentioned the availability of resources for a mini-set of cards, but everything indicates that the introduction of this set of rewards had been in the works long before. So, let's take a first look at the features of these cards.
Hola amigos de Splinterlands y Hivers, el día martes se anunció de forma sorpresiva la presentación de un nuevo conjunto de cartas que podremos obtener en los cofres de botín o directamente de la tienda de glints, es decir, estamos hablando del set sucesor de las actuales cartas de recompensa Rebellion. Me llamó la atención ya que en X las noticias nos hablaban de la disposición de recursos para una mini edición de cartas, pero todo indica que la introducción de este conjunto de recompensas ya era un trabajo que se había estado adelantando mucho antes. Hagamos entonces una primera aproximación de las características de estas cartas.
For now, we can only talk about the technical aspects of this new set, since beyond the announcement image of these new cards, we don't have any specific card designs. So, let's start with the number of cards this new set entails: 43 Conclave Edition cards, divided as follows:
- 12 Common cards.
- 12 Rare cards.
- 7 Epic cards.
- 12 Legendary cards.
Well, it's basically the same amount we saw in the Rebellion reward cards, so there are no surprises in this specific section.
Por ahora solo podemos hablar de aspectos técnicos sobre este nuevo conjunto, ya que más allá de la imagen del anuncio de estas nuevas cartas, no tenemos ningún diseño de cartas específicas. Asi que comencemos por la cantidad de cartas que este nuevo set implica, 43 cartas de edición Conclave divididas de la siguiente manera:
- 12 Cartas comunes.
- 12 Cartas raras.
- 7 Cartas épicas.
- 12 Cartas legendarias.
Bueno, básicamente es la misma cantidad que vimos en las cartas de recompensa Rebellion, así que no tenemos ninguna sorpresa en este apartado específico.
What's truly different about this set of cards is that the Soulbound nature of these cards is partial. This means that regular foil cards of any rarity will be Soulbound, with the possibility of being unlocked with a new mechanism that I'll detail later. However, gold foil cards will be completely free to be traded or sold on the market. This is a great incentive and reaffirms the play2earn spirit that the game has, it is something that I celebrate because since the first soulbound cards came out: the Chaos Legion, the only thing that could be obtained from the game were Sps and later Glints, this generated some discomfort in the community that really enjoys the game, collecting cards, vibrating in Brawls, tournaments and not simply extracting glints and Sps tokens.

The previous card unlock system was the best evidence of the tortuous path the community had to take after the NFT bubble burst and the glut of cards on the market. The best evidence is how much it costs to unlock Rebellion rewards cards. I recently obtained a golden Frigid Wolf, and unlocking it costs $146 at today's Dec price. It's simply excessive, and you'll never find anyone offering a card like that on the market. The fact that these golden cards aren't unlocked now is a welcome step, but what about unlocking regular Conclave cards? Will it remain the same? The good news is no. A new unlocking system has been introduced, which I consider fairer, and which I'll explain below.

Unbinding Scrolls/Pergaminos de Desbloqueo
With the introduction of these new reward cards, an exclusive unlocking system will also be included for these Conclave cards. This involves the use of Unbinding Scrolls, which we can purchase. These scrolls are differentiated for each rarity. That is, there are scrolls for common, rare, epic, and legendary cards. Their price is determined by the card's power with a 5x multiplier. For example, a common Conclave card has a power of 5; if we apply this factor, we'd be talking about a scroll to unlock 1 Bcx of a common card costing 25 Decs.
Con la introducción de estas nuevas cartas rewards también se incluirá un sistema de desbloqueo exclusivo para estas cartas Conclave que involucra el uso de Unbinding Scrolls que podremos comprar y se diferencian para cada tipo de rareza, es decir hay scrolls para cartas comunes, raras, épicas y legendarias. Su precio esta determinado por el poder de la carta con un factor multiplicador X5. Por ejemplo, una carta Conclave común tiene un poder de 5 si aplicamos el factor estaríamos hablando que un pergamino para desbloquear 1 Bcx de una carta común sería 25 Decs.
Another important element is that these scrolls can be crafted in Lands through the auras farmed in magical lands, and the investment cost will be related to the scroll's rarity. It's an alternative to crafting scrolls and generating income as well. In short, it gives Lands greater utility, which is something good for the medium and long term. This reminds me that I should take my investments in Lands more seriously while I have time.
Otro elemento importante es que estos pergaminos pueden craftearse en Lands a través de las auras que se farmean en las tierras mágicas y el costo de inversión estará relacionado con la rareza del pergamino. Es una alternativa para crear los pergaminos y para generar ingresos también, en resumen darle mayor utilidad a Lands y eso algo bueno para el mediano y largo plazo en Lands, lo que me recuerda que debo tomarme más en serio mis inversiones en lands mientras tenga tiempo.
Black Foils & The Fortune Draw
Finally, the question remains: What about the black sheets? The answer is that they will exist, but they won't be obtained from chests or the store. They will only be obtained through a weekly draw involving participation tokens. These tokens will be obtained with every 5 wins in 3 rounds, whether in the Modern or Wild format. It's a format similar to the Frontiers draw, except that we'll need to contribute 150 Decs to participate, and the number of participation tokens will be determined by the amount of SPs you have in stake and the league you're in.
Como último elemento queda la pregunta: ¿Qué sucede con las láminas negra? La respuesta es que si las habrá, no se conseguirán en los cofres ni en la tienda, solo a través de un sorteo semanal que involucrará el uso de fichas de participación que se obtendrán con cada 5 victorias en 3 rondas ya sea en el formato moderno o wild, es un formato similar al sorteo de Frontiers solo que necesitaremos aportar 150 Decs para participar y la cantidad de fichas de participación estará determinada por la cantidad de Sps que tengas en Staking y la liga donde te encuentres.
As a final note on this introduction to cards and unlocking systems, it's important to highlight that these cards don't provide production points, meaning they can't be used in Lands. This leaves only the Conclave Core cards with the ability to be used in Lands. Overall, I don't think it's that crucial, since the amount of PP these cards generate is so low that it's not worth it; only the Black Foil and Arcane Black Foil versions are truly worth it. This could result in the released cards having a fairly low market value, or something similar to the Founder cards, which have gradually depreciated in value. However, I see the need to make it easier for the community to release their cards so they can manage them and feel like they own their assets.
Como nota final de esta introducción de cartas y sistemas de desbloqueo, es importante destacar que estas cartas no proporcionan puntos de producción, eso significa que no pueden usarse en Lands, esto deja únicamente a las cartas Conclave Core con la posibilidad de usarse en Lands. En general no me parece algo tan crucial ya que la cantidad de Pp que generan estas cartas es tan pobre que no vale la pena, solo las versiones lámina negra y lámina negra arcana son las que realmente la pena. Esto podría generar que las cartas liberadas tengan un valor en el mercado bastante bajo, o algo parecido a las cartas founders que gradualmente han ido depreciando su valor, pero veo necesario dar facilidades a la comunidad de liberar sus cartas para gestionarlas y sentir que son dueños de sus activos.
In short, I greatly welcome this addition of reward cards; it was time for the core card releases to be temporarily aligned with the release of the reward cards themselves. I didn't want to go into too much detail about the changes to the chest rewards because I'm pretty sure we won't even notice them, but what I also see as another wise decision is the addition of special skins to the Glint Shop. They're still a few days away from release, but I have no doubt this is the path Splinterlands must follow to make the game as addictive and enjoyable as it once was. En resumen celebro bastante esta incorporación de cartas rewards ya era momento que la edición de cartas core en emisión estuviera temporalmente en sintonía con la emisión de las mismas cartas rewards. No quise extenderme en la modificaciones de las recompensas en los cofres porque estoy casi seguro que ni las vamos a notar, pero lo que también veo como otra decisión acertada es la incorporación de skins especiales en la tienda de glints. Aún faltan algunos días para que salgan pero no tengo dudas que este es el camino que debe seguir Splinterlands para que el juego vuelva a ser adictivo y disfrutable como antes.
