SGS Splinterlands Update : June 2025
It’s been almost a year since I did an update on the SGS Splinterlands Assets so this is probably overdue. Last time I was writing about the introduction of the Wild Pass which you can read HERE and since then things have dawdled along and the @ssg-community account has been grinding it out without much significant change.

The Wild Pass is now only payable in DEC or CREDITS so at 2000 DEC that costs about $1.86 USD per season at todays prices. Having run through the Season Report Card for the playing account last season, it earned 148.605 SPS from Ranked Rewards and 131.282 SPS from Brawl Rewards so that’s a total of 279.887 SPS which is worth about $2.43 USD of value in liquid rewards. Thus, from a pure liquidity perspective the account is still making a slim profit after the Wild Pass expense.
However, on top of that the account earned 45,366 Glint from Ranked Rewards and 40,248 Glint from Season Rewards totalling 85,614 Glint. This is a little bit harder to put a value on because Glint is not trade-able and the Reward Cards are initially Soulbound. However we CAN do a few extrapolations to try to guesstimate what the value of this earned Glint might be.
Soulbound cards can be unlocked and made trade-able after a time. Having a look at the market today the current Legendary Reward cards for Rebellion are selling for an average of about $11.11 USD. The cost to unlock those cards is currently 10,000 DEC which is worth about $9.30 USD. So, in theory we could pay to unlock a Legendary card and sell it at market for another $1.80 USD profit if the market is liquid at that price.
Similarly the Epic cards average about $2.35 on the market and cost 2000 DEC (about $1.86 USD) to unlock. With 85,000 Glint per season that would buy 2 Legendaries and 2 Epics which could potentially be unbound and sold for another $4.59 profit per season. Alternatively if the cards are kept Soulbound and valued at full market price then the account is still a very healthy earner and is appreciating upwards of $26 USD in card value (2 Legend + 2 Epic) per season.
It depends on how you look at it and whether you have any confidence that the Splinterlands Assets will retain value or even appreciate in value in the future. That’s likely to be a topic of conjecture. In the short term I am happy to persist with the status quo, but we might need to seriously consider liquidating some or all of these assets at some point.
EDIT : According to Peak Monsters the trade-able cards on the account are worth about $470 USD which is actually slightly higher than reported this time last year.

You just got DUO from @trumpman.
They have 1/1 DUO calls left.
Learn all about DUO here.
The problem with soulboubd is, you pay to unlock them, so that money is spent, but it's not granted someone buys that expecially with that high price to cover the unlock, that might bring deep red
Can't you burn the cards too? I don't know what kind of return that would give you, but it is a possibility.
Yes, you can but they just give you more Glint. A pathetic amount of it too...
Oh, that is too bad. I just blew a bunch of Glint the other day on cards.
