MoonKarts Rewards Distribution - Leaderboards, Ranked, Referral, Moon Domes

Hi Arcade Colony universe! Today, I’m diving into the fascinating economy and rewards system of Moon Karts, and breaking it down from an expert’s perspective so you can get the full picture (and maybe gain an advantage while you play).
The MoonKarts Rewards Distribution
In Moon Karts the earning mechanics are built to reward dedication, skill, and investment: the game assesses four main factors — your skill level, time spent playing, the quality of your NFTs (karts, drivers, parts), and how many governance tokens you’ve staked — and then uses all of those to determine how many rewards you’ll earn. The message is clear: to maximize your income you should be good at the game, play regularly, use high-quality NFTs and stake governance tokens.
The reward system allocates a fixed supply of COLONY tokens each day, split across several pools:
40% to the Orbitals Pool
25% to the Ranking Pool
10% to tokens dropped on the racetrack
5% to the Referral Pool
20% to the Seasonal Rewards Pool
The Seasonal Rewards Pool is particularly interesting: it uses a 10-day cycle and accumulates 20% of total token rewards daily, then distributes that pool based on player rankings at end of the cycle. It’s designed to reward sustained performance, not just one single win.
When it comes to earning through racing, there are three paths:
Pick up COLONY tokens directly on the track and win the race while keeping those tokens in your possession.
Participate and earn a skill-based ELO ranking, then receive token distributions based on daily and seasonal leaderboards.
Collect “Orbitals” on the track, win the race, and finish with them — these give you a separate leaderboard and reward system, with better gear giving you higher multipliers.

On top of racing, there’s an alternative earning path via the referral program: you get an invite code, new players join using your link, spend $20 in-game, and you earn points toward the Referral Pool. That pool is 5% of daily token allocation and is distributed in proportion to how many referral points you accrued.
There are checks though — for example referral points only count when the referred spends fiat currency or non-Arcade Colony tokens, not when they spend COLONY or SCRIPT. Also, there’s a daily cap: you can never receive more than 0.5% of total Rewards Pool or 10% of the Referral Pool in one day. Unclaimed tokens roll over.
Finally: looking ahead, Moon Karts has teased a feature called Moon Domes — player-owned stadiums or racetracks that route 10% of the tokens from any race held within them to the owner.
