MoonKarts’ Fuel System: Race Smarter with Vault Strategy - MoonKarts

We're now down to almost 30 seasons with MoonKarts and as each season goes by, everyone is anticipating a much more competitive setups from the players. MoonKarts, the thrilling web3 kart racing game from Arcade Colony, isn’t just about speed—it’s about smart resource management too. At the heart of this is its innovative Fuel System, which adds depth to gameplay and brings strategic planning into every race.
That being said, Fuels are very important as you need this to race and earn rewards. Well you can actually race without fuel but it is assured that you won't be getting orbital rewards and ranked rewards. In MoonKarts, Fuel is essential for racing. Every time you hit the track, a portion of fuel is consumed—no fuel, no race. This mechanic ensures that racing isn’t just endless grinding, but an experience that rewards thoughtful participation and preparation.
So how do players keep their fuel tanks topped up? That’s where the Vault System comes in.
Players can lock (or “stake”) their driver and kart NFTs into the Auto Vault, where these cards work for you behind the scenes. While staked, they generate a daily supply of fuel based on the card’s rarity, upgrades, and type. For example, rarer and higher-level cards produce more fuel per day than common ones, so there’s a real incentive to level up and build a valuable collection.
But staking requires careful decisions:
Cards locked in the vault can’t be used for racing until withdrawn.

There’s a cooldown if you decide to pull them out early.
The longer they stay staked, the more consistent your fuel income becomes.
Another interesting mechanic: Fuel costs increase slightly the more you race in a short period—this prevents marathon sessions and encourages balanced play.
MoonKarts’ Fuel System creates an economy within the game where managing your assets is just as important as winning races. Players who plan well, stake wisely, and manage their fuel efficiently will always have the edge on the track.
In MoonKarts, it’s not just about being fast—it’s about being prepared.
