Metropolis Origins hints at P2E

This isn't the first time I have written a post about Metropolis Origins. There is a really good chance it won't be the last either. I remember writing an introductory post about the NFT card game a couple of months ago.

I didn't really think twice about it, but apparently it was so good that it gained recognition from the Metropolis Origins team and they gave me a shout out. How cool is that?

In case you haven't had a chance to check it out, Metro Origins is an battle style game kind of similar to Splinterlands. You own cards that you purchase in packs, you use those cards to make a deck and then you go into battle.

There are a couple of areas where "Metro" stands apart from Splinterlands. The first would be the fact that the strategy in the battles takes place in real time. You don't simply create your hand and then throw it into battle. You need to build a deck that allows you to react based on whatever card the opponent plays.

The play style is actually very similar to Hearthstone or Magic The Gathering if you have ever played either of those.

Another area where Metro stands apart is the fact that you don't need to make an investment to play. That's right, they have added "tourist" cards to the game which allow anyone to login and play whether they have invested in cards or not.

I have actually heard that some of the tourist cards are pretty impressive too. I personally have a decent collection of "founders" cards that I bought off the primary and secondary market on NeftyBlocks.

When I wrote my original post, I surmised that the Metro team could easily implement play to earn aspects in future updates to the game. Having tournaments and a crafting system would be a pretty cool addition to the game. Taking Hearthstone as an example, there is so much potential for microstransactions and the ability to earn either digital or in-game currency in a game like this.

At this time, none of the specifics have been released, but it has been verified by the team in the Metro Discord that they are indeed looking to add some Play 2 Earn features in the near future. Only time will tell what that could consist of, but I for one am pretty excited about the possibilities.

I noticed the other day that there are still quite a few of the founders packs on the secondary market. Getting in early could really be a windfall should you take the chance.

Either way, you still have a fun and engaging game that you can play when you get tired of the boring P2E games that just have you clicking a button every half hour to mine.

We need more stuff like Metropolis Origins on the blockchain. I think these are the kinds of games that are going to bring in the masses. We have already kind of seen that with Splinterlands.

Metro could be the think that really puts the WAX blockchain on the map.

I believe more of this should be in the blockchain which most users will appreciate a lot

Ooh, I play MTG from time to time, mostly Commander/EDH, so Metropolis Origins sounds intriguing, especially with the option of playing a tourist deck, that's awesome!

Thanks for sharing this on Listnerds😊

No problem. You should totally check it out. I just read today that they are making some changes that should improve the playability and will really benefit the people who have founder packs.

I stopped using WAX once the chain got busy and I had to keep adding in CPU to get more transactions going through. Do you know if this has been solved? I don't really plan on touching WAX much lately.

I don't really know. I have never had an issue with that, but I have a ton staked.

This is a detailed explanation, but I still find it difficult to engage in playing games online. I'm not sure how to start, Is there anything I can do about it? 'cause I'll love to engage in it.

First thing you need to do with this one is create a Wax cloud wallet account if you haven't yet.

No. It is web only right now. They are working on an app to improve playability I think though.
