Yup, I know what you mean by "doing more for hive", so I did set up the Hive and Hive-engine witnesses (both on account @botlord ;-) your votes are welcomed ;-) ). However, as you suspected, it takes some time to set up and get them running, but after that it is mostly maintenance. So I also took my development skills, and started building stuff for Hive. That does the trick for me!

Sloth and steady wins rhe race, I used to have a witness but it was run by my dev who unfortunately had to shut it down. I'm a tech noob so wouldn't know where to start sorting it myself. Is there an 'easy to follow' guide anywhere, or any tips on setting a witness up again...

I remember 'Hive in a box' or something, I'll need to have a look into that again see if i can work it out. Keep on developing, Hive needs all the help it can get !LOLZ !BBH !UNI

Thanks! I truly appreciate that ("keep developing"), some encouragement now and then is always useful ;-)
Yeah, running a witness isn't always easy if you're not that techy. There is indeed something like Hive-In-A-Box, and that is said to work very well, and easily. However, this time, when I set mine up, it didn't want to sync fully, so I reverted to the manual setup.
There are some good guides on how to set things up, but it is still going from one guide to the next to get it all working well, along with some tech-experience.
There is however another solution, one of the hiveians has his own hosting company, and one his packages include a fully setup server with Hive-In-A-Box, pretty much plug and play if I remember correctly:
