OH how things have changed

So I have been away from SPL for a bit but never sold my cards or SPS.

I started SPL way back in July 2022 and all I started with was a pack I had won in a twitch stream. I was trying to win NFTs to sell as I had just become unemployed and had a family of 5 to support.

Now back when I first started there was free to play but you couldn't make anything or own anything so I had to buy the spell book. That just happened to be around $16 in my country.

Now here I was with 5 cards and a spell book but not really any idea what I was doing so back to twitch I went and started to watch all the streamers I could find and would sit watching and learning to play. Some of them back then had giveaways either cards or SPS/DEC. This as a new player was great I was learning how to play this game and even winning some cards and even won enough DEC to buy some cards.

I have old blogs here from my early days of playing and not going to go into full detail but one thing I really miss from my early days was the cards we could get from the chests there were not soulbound and we could sell them or even rent them out. this is honestly how I was able to grow my deck in my early days. Between winning giveaways and grinding season chests back then and selling cards I got from them I was able to get my chaos legion up to just about max silver. Then came the soul bound cards I was thinking it will be great I can still get new cards, but I won't be able to level the cards I have..........But the soulbound cards have summoners having me think I can play and still build my deck then Chaos came to an end.

When chaos came to an end there was a huge bot problem and I could still earn cards but didn't have to pay for them just play for them. I really wanted to keep buying cards but as I was still unemployed I don't really have the money so I had to take a step back most streamers had finished up and there was no longer give aways. I was lucky enough to get my hands on a xbot token and let it play in wild building SPS and cards I can't sell.

I then stopped completely when I had to buy the wild pass to play a game with cards I had to buy but couldn't make $2 in a season to get my wild pass for next time. So here I was losing all motivation to play a game that I really enjoyed playing but it somehow got taken away from me because I didn't have the money to put into the game.

I have come back now and am still not in a position to buy my own cards like most people but I am willing to find a way, I will NOT be selling all my CL cards but I will be renting them out with the hopes I can use that to buy some Conclave cards.

it feels like I'm starting all over again but I do that the benefit of owning some cards I know it's not going to be easy but neither was the first time the biggest difference this time is I know what I'm doing
