UFC Heavyweight Champ will Convert Half of his Fight Purse into BTC
Crypto has been taking hold in the UFC. Crypto.com became the fight kit partner, the UFC is planning on releasing NFTs for the fans on January 23rd and some personalities have become involved with NFTs themselves, outside of the UFC.
The Crypto.com deal with the UFC is reportedly over 10 years and brings in $175 million.
Current and former UFC fighters have partnered with blockasset for an NFT project on Solana. Among them is Michael Bisping, Darren Till, Leon Edwards and Chuck Liddell.
Blockasset is an athlete-verified NFT platform and ecosystem, connecting fans to their favorite athletes like never before.
Francis Ngannou, the UFC heavyweight Champ, has partnered with CashApp and will receive half of his purse of his upcoming fight in Bitcoin. #PaidInBitcoin

CashApp is a peer-to-peer mobile payment solution, developed by Jack Dorsey's side-hustle Block (formerly Square). It also supports Bitcoin trading since 2018.
UFC fighter pay has been a hotly debated topic as of recently. Public numbers bandied around are only one part of the story. Especially for champions.
Francis Ngannou is currently on a contract that pays $500k for show plus $500k for win. As a champ he gets a cut from the pay-per-view earnings plus a few other extra fees on top.
I guess that half his purse in this case means the show money. That would mean Francis will convert $250k into Bitcoin. He will be buying the dip. Like a pro.
Francis sees a bright future for cryptocurrencies in Africa.
