What Android Still Gets (and Misses)
What I do want from Android as a whole, though, is a way to add in fonts from Google’s font website and just change the system font to the one downloaded from there. Like, I don't think it would be hard for Google to make an app that is just the Google Fonts website, basically, but lets you download it from there and place the fonts in the folder that Android wants fonts in.
I’mma be real — I don’t care about AOSP, but if I want a generic Android phone, I’ll just get a Pixel. So really, for me to move from Pixel, it needs to be something that is cooler, like Nothing is via marketing — but not when you actually use the device.
Sadly, Pixel uses Samsung's custom CPU tech right now, but Pixel 10 is TSMC, so it should be good for temps starting from that line. But we’ll have to wait and see for people to get their hands on a Pixel 10.
Like, Pixel 9 temps are pretty good compared to other Pixels, but still seem bad if you are in a really hot area, like the Middle East as a whole.
Also, since we’re talking about phones, I wanna gush about Material Expressive, since I am using Android 16 QPR1 Beta (first time I have ever used a beta channel for something on a phone). Like, not only does it look nicer and more modern, but the animations and more and better haptics just make it feel so much faster.
