Multiple Intelligence

The only problem I have with people who speak of multiple intelligences is that they are borrowing a word that stands for a special construct which purports to have the same grounding or connotation but just for other abilities, or just a better name for “ability”, but it is not the case that they all reside at the same level of analysis as general cognitive ability, so it’s unfair to speak of things like “emotional intelligence”, “social intelligence” etc. because they are nonsense in psychometrics

They’re metaphors but they’re even bad at being ones I think, because it deceives someone into thinking that these things define you in the way IQ defines you, which is not true at all. emotional intelligence can tell you you are empathetic, but it says nothing about how effective you are and you can’t make any prediction given that it’s way too much environment dependent to be testable, while with IQ you’re either good at visualizing things and understanding texts or you aren’t, given the very elementary requirements that the testing room is well ventilated, the subject has slept a normal amount and he is not dehydrated or depressed

The thing is even mathematical intelligence also often depends on level of spiritual, emotional or mental state of humans.. If one is more detached, one is more likely to perform better in maths and score above in intellectual tests than say one who has severe attachments and suffering, even with highest intelliegence, his brain might be dysfunctional, so in that sense, i doubt the timelessness or emotional/spiritual state-invariance of even mathematical tests

A true measure of a mathematical test is where all other parameters are in control

for that one must know the other layers of mind

So, trying out hands or abstracting out the mind stuff based on tests, one has to be far more objective than the standards we have today
