I suffered a slight drop in my win percentage this week. The 1W2L results from the previous brawl pulling it down slightly. Having done pretty badly (in my opinion), I'm hoping that I've learnt my mistakes and will do better. 🤔 Even mistakes and defeats can make for good learning lessons after all.

Just as before, I've gotten YET another Gladius pack again too. That's 3 brawls in a row that I have managed to get Gladius packs. Considering that every brawl gives about 700-1000 merits, that means my daily chest rewards are providing me with lots of Merits instead of other rewards 😰.

No luck at all for my Gladius pack again. Just the bare minimum of 1 Rare and 4 Commons. I can take some consolation that my Collection Power is boosted slightly however. Always look on the bright side of life eh? 😜

As usual, I make an extra effort to rent ✨Gold Foil Chaos Legion✨ cards that align with my daily focus during Guild Brawl days.

Hopefully Lady Luck continues to shine on me 🍀🍀🍀 and I don't get too many weird ruleset combinations which will completely screw up my limited Gold Foil selection of cards. (🤣 yeah, that's how terrible I am, to have to rely on luck for my wins)

• Some thoughts I have about my exploits in the Gold Frays. 💭🤔

I feel like I'm winning because my opponent has even less Gold Foil cards available to him than I do. Personally, I find it slightly flattering to me. The teams I field are definitely not the absolute strongest, but more of what is available to me.

It also doesn't account for HOW I win some of the fights though. I've realised that a fair number of them are from opponents who just gave up and did not even face me in battle. ⚔️⚔️⚔️

My choice of picking up the Gold Foil frays is to simply give the Guild a better chance at accumulating more wins, seeing especially that IN THE PAST, many Gold Frays were left empty. Even if I were to lose everything and win just 1 match, it would definitely help in securing a better finishing position overall. 🥇🥈🥉

I've joined the Pizza 2 Guild over at the PIZZA DISCORD and was introduced to the world of Guild Brawls in Splinterlands. It has been an interesting experience to say the least. 🎉🥳🎊
Guild Brawls are generally the same as Battles, but with some minor tweaks (of which I'll save for another day). Lets get right down to business as I analyze my brawls. 🧐⚔️🛡️

WON.

This was essentially a FREE WIN for me.

My opponent was only able to field 2 Gold Foil units, costing a combined 4 mana, for a 19 mana limit ruleset. I, on the other hand, managed to just about field the team I wanted and was ready for a fight to the death!!! (🤣 ok I'm exaggerating, but you get the idea)

This was almost the exact same ruleset as my first game. Earthquake with a 20 mana limit.

AND.... Once again, the WIN was handed to me on a platter. 😱

My opponent only managed to field a combined force of 10 mana. The numerical superiority was simply too much to handle. As before, my victory was a foregone conclusion.

A perfect 4 WINS out of 4! 🥳🥳🥳

I ought to be overjoyed! However, I think I can reasonably count all these 4 wins as walkovers for me. 2 of them had my opponent outright fleeing, while the other 2 were not able to field a complete team at all.

Don't get me wrong. Of course I am still happy with these results. It's just that it seems rather anti climatic 😅. I had carefully selected my teams and was expecting to watch a good battle. However, I'll take the win no matter how it comes about. Every point earned contributes to the whole guild effort.

I feel it's important that Guilds are able to fill out all the frays - even the significantly "harder" Gold ones. It is very likely that most guilds (at our level) skip the Gold frays completely, or are unable to even field a team if they've got no Gold Foil Summoners. This therefore leads to a better overall score.

PIZZA 2 Guild managed to finish in 2nd place! 🏆🏆🏆

This was a great placing and everyone did really well overall to place this high.

However, as it was for the past few weeks, I can't say I'm satisfied with this placing at all. Just 3 wins separated us from the 1st place. BUT out of the 13 Frays we had available, only 11 were filled. It is always extra disappointing when we can't even get the numbers to join in to make any attempt at all. ☹️

New recruits are definitely needed to fill out the slots from inactive members who've gone MIA without any notice. ☹️

Great Job from everyone who took part in the Guild Brawls! I'm proud of you all! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
