It's been a pretty tame week for me in the world of Splinterlands. That is usually the case for a week right in the middle of a season which provides some needed "peace and quiet". 😇

In the bigger picture of the Splinterlands World though, there has been some really interesting happenings going in their related products. It's not Splinterlands per se, but Genesis League Goals. They're both really interwined at the moment though, so I think we can lump them in together - at least until GLG finally launches. 🤑

But before I go into detail...

A brief introduction before I start though...

Good Day to all Splinterlands players! (and people of HIVE! 😜) I've made it a point to blog about my weekly progress and experiences in Splinterlands/HIVE in my "weekly diary". Splinterlands & HIVE are what I'd consider to be my entry point into the World of Crypto, and I intend to use this as a means to look back on the path I've taken in the years ahead.⏳⏳⏳

This is now the 51st consecutive week writing in my Diary (of sorts) detailing my Splinterlands Journey ever since I started this game. Of course, this also marks another weekly giveaway! 🎉🥳🎊

It's been a pretty routine week for me in the game. I've just basically been doing my dailies and farming the reward chests. A slow and steady grind if you will 😜. Luck wise, I haven't gotten anything special to speak of. There has been no spectacular Gold Foils or legendaries, or even outsized SPS rewards.

Every bit counts though, in the grand scheme of things, and I'm pretty sure I will reap the rewards in the future. 🤑

My quest for more Gold Foil Legendary cards from my rewards chests continues on ("Greed is Good!" 😈). It's a 0.008% chance, at base level, to pull a legendary gold foil, in case you were wondering 😉. Here's to more jackpot strikes in the future (i hope) 🤞🏻🍀🤞🏻🍀🤞🏻🍀.

In terms of the Tower Defense Nightmare packs accumulation, I went up from 185 to 202 packs from last week, before eventually dropping down to 79 packs at the moment.

Although this means a decrease in airdropped SPS everyday for me, I've sold those packs at a pretty decent profit of at least 2 HIVE per pack. That's definitely a much better deal for me overall 🤑📈.

I do not really spend all those profits though and everything is reinvested back into placing (lower) bids for said packs again 😉. Therefore, it's a fluid situation which ensures that I extract maximum value from my holdings.

Genesis League Sports, whilst not quite Splinterlands, has had it's GLX token airdropped to all SPS stakers for a few days now. However, it was only 2 days ago whereby the airdropped token finally had it's own staking webpage at https://genesisleaguesports.com/token/glx.

Look at the huge rise in the value of the GLX token! 😱 It started trading at barely 0.05 HIVE/GLX. But when staking went LIVE, it's value shot up to as high as 1.6+HIVE/GLX 😱!!! As of the writing of this post, it has managed to stay fairly stable at around the 0.6-0.8 HIVE range.

Why was there such a sudden increase in value then? 📈

As you can see here in this staking screengrab of my own GLX holdings, nothing seems too out of the ordinary. However, what it doesn't show is that the APR of staking at the moment is at a MASSIVE 4000+% APR! 🤑

When staking first started, it was at an even higher rate! This has led to a huge interest in the token as everyone is attempting to gather as much as they can to take advantage of such crazy staking percentages in the token's early days.

Personally, I spent about 200 HIVE and acquired almost 600 GLX tokens of my own just 2 days ago at 0.3++ HIVE each. I had considered it already pretty expensive back then but decided to go for a small gamble because of the crazy % numbers I was seeing. Since then, I've recovered almost 30% of the HIVE I've spent and also had my total amount of tokens increased by more than 15%!

I'd say this entire venture has paid off most handsomely for me. It's a pity I only put in this small amount of 200 HIVE and that I had sold much of the token I'd gathered initially at rates of around 0.4+ HIVE (in my attempt to ROI as early as possible). Had I been bolder, my gains would have had been far greater.

I don't think I will risk anymore by purchasing even more GLX at current levels though. However, I will continue staking/selling until I recover most of my investment. The APR % rates are still pretty impressive at the moment (3000+% APR according to my own math) and I personally think the prices should stay elevated for at least a week or so.
