Facebook Police At It Again…

As time goes on, I find myself utilizing Facebook less and less for various reasons. For starters, I was watching myself become more and more obsessed with arguing with friends & strangers alike over nonsense. Never a good thing. So I made a conscious effort to cut that shit out as I didn’t like who I was becoming on my (at the time) most used social media outlet.

I’m not going to blame that on FB entirely as I’m an adult and should be smart enough to scroll past the idiotic comments or posts. But I’m also not letting them off the hook so easily. For FB knows what I like and dislike, and they constantly feed my dumbass what they wanted me to see. Very savvy FB…

So over the past year or so, I’ve made great strides in cutting my time spent there as I simply found myself leaving irritated and unhappy. “Why would I constantly do that to myself”, I wondered? So, these days I use it for business, to connect specifically with friends and family that are sadly only on that, and to link to some pieces that I write here. This my friends…is where my beef lies with them.

For the third straight time in mere weeks, the tech giant has removed my post stating that it “Goes against community standards, spam, or security breaches”.

The only real horror I see here is the fact that I spelled “write”, wrong. Stupid fat fingers…

Regardless of my poor rushed spelling in the Veve Group, once again I find myself having a post with content linking back to the Hive Blockchain…removed for violating their terms. Three times now this has happened recently and I think it’s total nonsense.

My favorite aspect of this comes to the point where I have to click through the supposed violation. Then it gives me the option to Accept or Disagree with their decision. When I click on the Disagree button, I’m told that they are short staffed and cannot look at my issue individually…so I basically just have to Accept that I indeed violated Facebook’s terms…scumbags.

Has anyone else found this same problem if posting there with links to a piece on Hive? I can’t remember exactly as I wasn’t initially paying attention until a pattern started to emerge, but maybe it has to do with posting in Groups on FB? This particular piece was removed and it was in one of the dumb Veve groups. I know I had one of my art pieces yanked and that was in a Comic Art Group. I can’t remember if the third was posted in a group or not…maybe that has something to do with it?!?

Either way, seems like a shit move that when I link to Hive in some fashion, it gets yanked. Thoughts?!?

Hi, I'm sorry for what happened to you, I understand your anger.

In my particular case I only share Hive links directly on my Facebook page. So far I have not done so in groups.

It is unfortunate that this happens. I know there are restrictions with other types of links, I didn't think they could restrict Hive links. I hope this does not happen again.

Greetings from Venezuela.

Yeah,
not a terribly huge inconvenience but still an irritating situation. Especially since I can’t really fight it. Just forced to accept it. Eh, more time for here. 😉

This Is probably the reason why many prefers to share to Twitter rather then Facebook, I don't think your spelling mistake was why your posts was yanked off, we already know, Facebook tries to curtail contents for Mostly marketing aspects, they've become too big in userbase and they can afford to censor people. It's more like on still being on Facebook, using it only to contact friends and family alone because we can be censored for other form of usage

I’m actually happy as I feel like with each stupid little thing like this, it makes me rely on and use it less and less which means more time here!

I think stuff like that only happens if someone reports your post. So someone in the group might have a beef with you or blockchain’s. Or people have shared so many other hive posts with a “let’s over throw the government” or “vaccines are shit” messaging that Facebook has added “hive” to it’s algorithm of misinformation spreaders.

It’s funny you stopped Facebook because of arguing with friends and strangers over nonsense. Cause that is why I avoid/block most of Hive! 😄

Really?!? You were getting into it with folks here? I feel like I’ve done a much better job of letting things roll off me over here than on FB.

Not getting into it so much… more like feeling the anger swell from within as I would read posts or see chatter in discords where people believe utter bullshit. I work in healthcare, my politics lean left… these things put me at odds with the general hive vibe. Plus, I find it mentally draining to see the conspiracy chatter.

So instead of engaging I just block accounts and withdraw. 🙂

But I am all about dog and toy chatter. 😃

I am with you, although I feel like I have done a good job of even avoiding that here. I get disappointed as well but I don't want to fall into the trap here that I did with Facebook. So I put my blinders on and just do what I do. Pups and toys sound sweet....

I actually had a joke removed once. I forget the particular joke, but they claimed that they actually fact-checked a joke! I guess I offended one of the ultra-sensitive young executives working for them.

You’ve got to be joking!

Heh…

But seriously, it borders on ridiculous sometimes. Especially when you are unable to straighten it out. One of the aspects I love about it here on Hive. That isn’t happening here…
