How Does Hives Userbase Grow?
How Does Hives Userbase Grow?
One of the biggest issues with hive has been it's growth in terms of adoption of people wanting to use it and then also trade in it. Since then there have been some moves to open this up a bit with swapping options of HBD and Hive in defi applications like CubDeFi and PloyCub and while this has opened up hive a bit to more trading it still struggles at times. It however was the first step in the right direction towards adoption of hive and some layer 2 tokens.
I also have to give credit to Splinterlands as they also put up a number of ways to interact with hive including the ability to swap their native tokens of DEC and SPS. I think it's going to be on another level come the end of 2023 when land releases and we see about 10+ more tokens introduced into the game along with NFTs and other assets.
So this is a great start it's opening Hive up to more blockchains and revenue sources that it normally could only touch through a select few exchanges that where highly unreliable. I believe exchanges are going to be phased out here soon in the next year or two and mainly replaced with swaps and DEX and hive once again is somewhat on breaking ground for that but lots more development does need to take place there.
Applications
Hive saw it's best growth two years ago when play2earn games became all the rage. From that hive blew up and once again Splinterlands did a great job at integrating people into hive with it's blogging platform called SplinterTalk where people would talk about the game, share strategies and so on. They neared hive and HBD a long with layer 2 tokens and became more and more a integral part of hive.
However it stopped there. Unless you cared to blog or comment on others blogs there wasn't much there for you. It limited the reach and onboarding of people to interact on the hive blockchain but that now seems to be changing.
Right now there are two core fudementals of Hive that grow it.
The first is the blogging side which as we have seen is crazy slow and limited in terms of people caring to do it.
The second is gaming and that's one that really blew up the hive blockchain in a good way.
The third and coming soon will be the start of social applications that allow in short form content. That will first come with LeoThreads but I also believe once people see the success of it we will see other things quickly being worked on. At least I hope.
Things such as Short form video is a big one and is one I hope @3speak will go after hard. However with that implementation It needs to not be in a blog format like it currently is and the algo along with UI need some serious updates to make it a place people want to use and consume content.
Overall I see threads as being a real possibility to showing people what is capable of being done on the Hive blockchain and hopefully spark a new wave of development for hive. Turning hive tokens more into a resource that applications need and less about users while users primarily work with the layer 2 tokens of which the application is going to have to manage well with ads and other types of revenue.

I am nothing there are so many new users on hive blockchain, I really wish we have something to track and analyze all all the data about daily unique users, active users and all the number of users who are joined hive so for but unfortunately not able to find any tool to get complete data about it
Short form content is something that for sure will bring more users although I think is the sing up process that probably needs to be more easy for users, new users are not familiar with paying to open an account, this is new to even classic social media now with twitter and facebook having subscriptions, after that Hive also needs like a central wiki/faq that provides all information necesary to start and understand how the network works but short form content will definetly bring in more users, btw mobile need either app or mobile friendly front ends, its just a matter of time for all this infrastructure to be build

I imagine, in the future, popular dapps like Splinterlands, LEO Threads, 3Speak, etc. will branch off onto their own dapp-specific chains and then use HIVE as the hub.
I have seen what you got here, hive have been growing in four dimensions, blogging, gaming, threads, and lastly videos each area contribute to hive and the most successful is the splinter land games, I think that's my next adventure to play one of those, thanks for the update and refresh my brain on my goals on hive.
