The Evil Within 1 | Back in Town! [No Commentary Gameplay]

You might be wondering what happened to our partners. Well, we'll finally get some clues on this chapter. As you can see, that elevator ride took us back to a distorted version of Crimson City. And at the center of all this madness is the mental hospital. So, that where we are headed. However, getting there won't be easy as there's a lot of enemies and moving parts of the city that will be there to stop us.

Along these obstacles, we'll have to face what I call a mockup of Rudvik that we managed to defeat by a hair since we were basically out of ammo for the fight. Yes, bullets are scarce in this game. And we'll have to go through some parts in water with an enemy that looks like an evil dolphin chasing us.

And moving onwards into a construction site, we'll be a sitting duck on a moving platform. Time to make up for those shooting skills and the ammo we can get along the way.



After getting out of so many fights, we'll get a glimpse of a running Kidman. She's been cornered by a lot of enemies in the balcony of a building. Getting to her won't be easy as we'll need to sort out so many obstacles and eliminate some enemies. The worst part of it is that we need to swim and we have the water enemy on our back. Planning how to move along the many cars and other platforms in the way is key to get to our partner.

Once we do it, we'll have to tag along her to eliminate more enemies and move along to another place. In the midst of it, we'll fall for Rudvik's influence and try to kill Kidman. She shoots us locks us up in a place for her own safety and proceeds to keep going without us. However, Leslie will come by and free us from our prison so we can keep moving on.



Our last puzzle will involve getting into a place with a gas leak. That means we can't shoot or we'll blow to pieces. So, we'll need to sneak around the place with some big enemies and some normal ones and get a keycard to open the path and get out of there. This section is a great way to keep showcasing the survival horror elements of the games as it forces us to avoid going in like a cowboy and solving problems shooting.

Getting out of this place finally let's us move forward and reach a bus we saw a while back. And at the end of the road, we see a familiar face. The face of the useless Joseph.



De Regreso en Crisom City

Quizá se estén preguntando qué pasó con nuestros compañeros. En este capítulo tendremos noticias de ellos. Como pueden ver, el elevador nos lanzó de regreso a Crinsom City. Al centro de toda la locura que estamos viviendo está el asilo mental. Así que allá es a donde vamos. Sin embargo, hay muchos obstáculos en el camino. Por ejemplo, el hecho de que la ciudad se mueve.

Entre otras cosas, nos enfrentaremos a a otra proyección de Rudvik que logramos derrotar a pesar que tenemos pocas municiones. Sí, eso es un problema en este juego. Además, hay varias secciones en el agua donde tenemos que cuidarnos de un monstruo que nos puede tragar y nos persigue por estas áreas.

Más adelante, seremos un blanco fácil para varios enemigos en una zona de construcción que tendremos que atravesar encima de una plataforma móvil. No hay de otra que sacar el mayor provechoa cada disparo.



Luego de avanzar otro tanto, nos encontraremos con Kidman. Está acorralada por varias enemigos en el balcón de un edificio. Llegar a ella será difícil porque tenemos que atravesar agua con este enemigo acuático siempre detrás de nosotros. La parte más difícil de todo es planear la ruta y cuando moverse en el agua y cuando salir y resguardarse encima de los objetos que flotan. La toma de decisiones es crucial para llegar a salvar a nuestra compañera.

Una vez que lo hagamos, tendremos su ayuda para eliminar a varios enemigos. Aunque al avanzar más, seremos víctimas de la influencia de Rudvik e intentaremos eliminar a Kidman. Sin otra opción, nos disparará y encerrará en una oficina para seguir con su camino. Leslie aparecerá de la nada y nos dejará libres para continuar avanzando.



Nuestra última parada será un área con una fuga de gas. Esto nos obligará a avanzar sin utilizar nuestras armas a menos que querramos volar en pedazos. Aquí hay varias enemigos grandes y otros normales. Nuestro objetivo es conseguir una tarjeta para poder salir del lugar. Esta sección nos regresa a ese estado de debilidad muy típico de estos juegos, pero también nos coloca en un lugar de resolver problemas sin disparar como vaquero.

Al salir de aquí, podremos seguir avanzando hacia el autobús que vinos hace rato. Finalmente, veremos una cara familiar. El rostro de nuestro compañero inútil, Joseph.

It seems like you hate Joseph lol, I think he is an interesting character xD

Joseph is the damsel in distress in this game. Even Leslie is far more useful as a character.

In the game's plot Joseph does not have a big role, but in-game he helps you to fight some monsters in a few chapters, so I think he is not that bad.

He's not that useful even in those fights. But I blame the IA for that.
