DIY: Valnamor-inspired boy's underwear (Eng - Esp)
Hello fellow thread and needle lovers, I hope you are enjoying good health and able to accomplish your projects. A new week begins with great expectations for the advancement of my personal goals. I must say that I wasn't able to complete the sewing projects I had planned to finish during the holiday season. I have several lunchboxes, pencil cases, and underwear pending for my family, including my beloved nephew Aaron. This baby always benefits from sewing projects. With the leftover fabric, I make him shirts, onesies, and sometimes underwear. This type of project is ideal for using up scraps.
On this occasion I share with you the making of some underwear or underpants for my nephew Aaron, inspired by the character Valnamor from the Splinterlands cards, who wears various shades of blue in his outfit and a kind of underpants of the aforementioned color, to do so I took some fabric, which I will use to sew a children's pajama set, after marking and cutting the pajamas there was a relatively large piece of fabric left and without wasting time I got to work and marked the interior pieces, I invite you to join me in the making process.
Hola amigos amantes de los hilos y las agujas, deseo se encuentren disfrutando de buena salud y puedan lograr sus proyectos, inicia una nueva semana con grandes expectativas para el avance de mis metas personales; debo decir que los proyectos de costura que tenía planificado terminar en el período de vacaciones, no los pude completar, tengo pendiente varias loncheras, cartucheras y ropa interior para mi familia, entre ellos mi querido sobrino Aarón, este bebé siempre sale beneficiado en los proyectos de costura, con las telas que van quedando le hago franelas, monos y en ocasiones ropa íntima, este tipo de proyectos es ideal para aprovechar los retazos.
En esta ocasión les comparto la elaboración de unos interiores o calzoncillos para mi sobrino Aarón, inspirados en el personaje Valnamor de las cartas de Splinterlands, que lleva en su atuendo varios tonos de color azul y una especie de calzoncillo del color anteriormente mencionado, para hacerlo tomé un poco de tela, de la que usaré para coser una pijama infantil, luego de marcar y cortar la pijama quedó un corte de tela relativamente grande y sin perder tiempo me puse manos a la obra y marcar las piezas del interior, les invito me acompañen en el proceso de elaboración.

I started by marking and cutting the underwear pieces. I folded the fabric right sides together, then placed the pattern and marked the front, back, and gusset. I pinned and cut. Pinning prevents the fabric from shifting and makes cutting more comfortable.
Then, using a straight stitch, I closed the gusset and front opening. I also pinned the fabric so it stays stable and I sew more easily.
Inicié marcando y cortando la piezas del calzoncillo, doblé la tela enfrentando los derechos, luego coloqué el molde y marqué; delantero, posterior y refuerzo, sujeté con alfileres y corté, colocar los alfileres evita que la tela se mueva y se corta más cómodo.
Luego con puntada recta cerré la abertura del refuerzo y parte delantera, también coloqué alfileres, así la tela se mantiene estable y coso mejor.
Once the front and gusset openings were sewn, the next step was to assemble the underwear. I faced the front and back, placed the gusset on top of the back, facing the wrong side of the back and the right side of the gusset, sewed with a straight stitch and zigzagged to overcast.
Cosidas las aberturas de la parte delantera y refuerzo, el siguiente paso fue ensamblar el calzoncillo, enfrenté la parte delantera y trasera, encima de la parte trasera coloqué el refuerzo, enfrentando revés del trasero y derecho del refuerzo, cosí con puntada recta y pasé zigzag para repisar.
Once the reinforcement was glued, I turned it over and faced the front and back right sides together. This way, the seam was hidden or tucked in. Then, I pinned it in place and closed the sides.

Once the underwear is assembled, all that's left is to glue the elastic. At the waist, I measured the circumference and subtracted ten (10 cm). This type of garment should be loose at the waist to avoid damaging and squeezing the baby's tummy. With a zigzag stitch, I glued the elastic, stretching one (1) by five centimeters of elastic, then I covered the elastic with the fabric from top to bottom and again zigzagged.
Ensamblado el calzoncillo, solo falta pegar el elástico, en la cintura medí el contorno y resté diez (10 cm), este tipo de prenda debe quedar holgada en la cintura para evitar que maltrate y apriete la pancita del bebé; con puntada de zigzag pegué el elástico estirando uno (1) por cinco centímetros de elástico, seguidamente cubrí el elástico con la tela desde ariba hacia abajo y nuevamente pasé zigzag.
To glue the elastic on the legs, the process is similar to the previous one, only the elastic is stretched one (1) centimeter every four (4) centimeters, on the legs a thinner elastic is used than the waist, when gluing it a margin of fabric of approximately one centimeter is left, to cover the elastic when turning it over and passing the second seam, in this way only the fabric will be in contact with the baby's skin, with these simple steps a blue interior inspired by Splinterlands is finished.
