Hello, hello creative friends and community @gems, it is a pleasure to greet you and share a new sewing project inspired by the characters of Splinterlands, it is a wine-colored boxer with a black center, this is similar to the design of the outfit worn by the character Arkemis the Bear, at the bottom you can see several figures in the shape of an inverted triangle, his suit has the colors wine, black and gold; for this project I used wine and black fabric, it is a very nice and elegant combination; This is the first time I've made this model of boxer shorts and the manufacturing process was quite simple, I only had a little difficulty joining the central piece or reinforcement with the front part of the leg, assembling the other pieces was simple and the result looks very good, the elastic that I got at the fabric store is decorated with a bear and goes very well with the character on the card, I invite you to join me in the manufacturing process.
Hola, hola amigos creativos y comunidad @gems, es un placer saludarles y compartir un nuevo proyecto de costura inspirado en los personajes de Splinterlands, se trata de un bóxer color vino y el centro de color negro, este es similar al diseño del atuendo que lleva el personaje Arkemis the Bear, en la parte inferior se observan varias figuras en forma de triángulo invertido, su traje lleva los colores vino, negro y dorado; para este proyecto usé tela color vino y negro, es una combinación muy bonita y elegante; es la primera vez que hago este modelo de bóxer y el proceso de elaboración fue bastante sencillo, solo tuve un poco de dificultad al unir la pieza central o refuerzo con la parte delantera de la pierna, ensamblar las otras piezas si fue sencillo y el resultado se ve muy bien, el elástico que conseguí en la tienda de telas, está está decorado con un oso y va muy bien con el personaje de la carta, les invito me acompañen en el proceso de elaboración.

This boxer has a very different design from the ones I had made. The previous ones had four pieces, this one has six pieces and a seam in the crotch. In addition, the gusset part closes at the end along with the crotch. The first step was to cut the pieces: gusset, leg hem, side and center back. Five pieces are wine-colored and the only black one is the gusset or center piece.

Este bóxer tiene un diseño muy diferente a los que había hecho, los anteriores tenían cuatro piezas, este lleva seis piezas y costura en la entrepierna, además la parte del refuerzo se cierra al final junto con la entrepierna, el primer paso fue cortar las piezas; refuerzo, bajo de pierna, costado y centro de atrás, cinco piezas son de color vino y la única de color negro es el refuerzo o pieza central.
Once the pieces were cut, the next step was to assemble the center piece or reinforcement and the leg hem. I faced the pieces right sides together, pinned them, and sewed them.

Once the reinforcement and front of the leg have been sewn, the back side is now joined to the pieces I sewed previously, so that the widest part is on top and matches the length of the first pieces (reinforcement and front of the leg). I pinned it and sewed with a straight stitch.

When joining the back sides, a kind of U or horseshoe is formed in which the back center is placed, I started from the top until reaching the crotch, then I did the same process on the other side, when fixing this piece it should coincide with the crotch opening, I fixed it with pins and sewed as in the previous, step with a straight stitch.

After joining the center back piece, I pinned and closed the crotch. I also sewed a hem about a centimeter wide, which will be the hem.
Luego de unir la pieza central de atrás, sujeté con alfileres y cerré la entrepierna, también cosí un dobladillo de aproximadamente un centímetro de ancho, que será el ruedo.
Once the boxer shorts are assembled, all that's left to do is attach the elastic. Using a tape measure, I measured the waist circumference and it was 37 centimeters wide. Multiply this by 2 and subtract 5 to 7 centimeters. The elastic to be used has a total of 68 centimeters. Then, I sewed the elastic, joining the ends and dividing it into four parts.
Ya ensamblado el bóxer solo resta colocar el elástico, con ayuda de una cinta métrica medí el contorno de cintura y tiene un ancho de 37 centímetros, este se multiplica por 2 y se le resta de 5 a 7 centímetros, el elástico a usar tiene un total de 68 centímetros, luego cosí el elástico uniendo los extremos y lo dividí en cuatro partes.
I attached the elastic to the boxer shorts, facing the wrong side of the fabric with the wrong side of the elastic. I sewed with a straight stitch, stretching to the points marked with the pins. Then, I turned them right side out and zigzag-stitched them. With these steps, a Splinterlands-inspired boxer short is finished.

The resulting boxer shorts look good. My son liked the color combination. Jersey fabric is great for this type of project because of its stretch and texture. You can also use microfiber or ribbed fabrics; they have the right stretch and thickness for these garments.
El resultado del bóxer se ve bien, a mi hijo le gustó la combinación de colores, la tela jersey es muy buena para este tipo de proyectos por su elongación y textura, también se puede usar tela micro o rib, tienen la elongación y grosor adecuados para estas prendas.
