What do you think about the soul bound reward monsters?

After finishing last season in Silver 1, I was moved back to Bronze 1 as usual. It usually takes me a few minutes to break free of that zone but this season has not panned out as I expected.
I have been stuck in Bronze hell for the best part of the season so far. In fact, I only broke out of Bronze hell some hours ago, so you know how horrible it has been.
Immediately after breaking free from bronze hell, I speedily zipped through the paces and I'm at the cusp of entering Silver 1. Moving up in Silver league isn't quite as tedious as getting out of Bronze but still not as difficult as making it into the top 25 of Silver league.
Anyway, while in Bronze hell, I've been earning bronze chests in droves and I have been getting some interesting assets into my collection. They've mostly been commons and rares but they are some interesting reward monsters.
More reason to play
The new set of reward monsters cannot be traded in any marketplace for now but they can be burned for DEC. However, there's no reason why any right-minded person would actually even consider burning these gems of monsters right now.
I've been fortunate to receive only a handful of commons and two rares that are yet to slot into my team but projecting forward, I can see a future where I'll be using these monsters.
On top of having really impressive artwork, some of the monsters have really impressive stats that could really tip the battle in your favour. Here are some of the new abilities that the new set of reward monsters comes with;
- Martyr: When a monster with this ability dies, adjacent monsters gain +1 of all stats
- Weapons Training: Adjacent monsters gain half of this monster's attack stat if they have no attack. I can imagine how this will complement Lord Arianthus
- All of the new reward summoners allow the use of one extra Gladiator monster in battle. I reckon this will come in handy in guild brawls.
I've not actually used any of the monsters in battle but I intend to use them at some point in the future when I've accumulated enough of them to battle in Silver league. It will take quite some time before I'll be able to use them but it's not like I have anywhere else to be, so let's play.
I was a bit 50:50 about this proposal to create new monsters that won't be tradable but the implementation has been quite good. Not being for sale is kind of frustrating because now you have level 1 commons of an impressive monster that you'd have normally maxed out.
In any case, this is more reason to play the game and play it, we shall. We'll be chasing more chests, stacking more SPS and fighting for supremacy in Splinterlands.
