Talking Security, Wrapping HBD, and Polycub savings
Yesterday would have turned out to be a very disastrous day but things turned out differently because of my hardware wallet. If you're reading this publication, I beg you in the name of anything you believe in, get yourself a hardware wallet and get another layer of protection.
In some way, we could say that Wrapping HBD contributed to helping me figure out that my hardware protected metamask was compromised. if I wasn't trying to Wrap HBD, I'd have not noticed the issue and who knows what else could have happened if I didn't nip it in the bud.
As @jerrythefarmer said, "don't use your crypto laptop to watch porn". What it basically means is that you really need to be wary of the websites you visit, if you only use one PC for all your activities.
One wrong move and you could be in a very bad situation. Now we know that the internet is littered with sketchy websites, thus necessitating the need for extra security in the form of a hardware wallet.
Don't play with your security, learn from my experience 5 months ago and do better. I can't overemphasize how important it is.
Got some pHBD
Anyway, after surviving the recent hack attempt n my metamask and also discovering where the virus might have entered my laptop from, I finally got around to wrapping HBD.
I managed to wrap a few dollars worth of HBD and it was pretty smooth. Interestingly though, the value of HBD on Polycub on the Polygon network is much higher than what you'll get on Hive blockchain.
At the time of writing, each pHBD was trading for around $1.02 or 1.02 USDC to be specific. As you probably already know, USDC is the other stable coin that pHBD will be paired with that enables you to farm on Polycub.
On the Hive side of things, HBD currently trades at an astonishing $0.97, a whole 3 cents away from the $1 peg that it is supposed to be at. If you've been on Hive long enough, you'll know that getting the peg stable has been a challenge but it has been relatively good.
Anyway, this variation in price between polygon HBD and Hive HBD opens up arbitrage trade opportunities for anybody willing to play with numbers. Moving HBD from one end to the other gives you extra value for your funs, and this is regardless of the small fee in HBD that you pay for converting HBD.
For example, earlier today, I converted 14 HBD and received 13.85 pHBD. I converted that HBD to USDC and received $14.12 worth of USDC. With a larger amount of HBD converted, you could be getting a lot more value at the current price.
Always watch the price of HBD and compare it to what you find on Polycub, because moving funds in either direction could give you decent value.
Polycub saving experiment
This then brings me to the recent experiment that I intend to conduct for the rest of the year. In one of @khaleelkazi's TikTok videos, he mentions how just buying $10 worth of Bitcoin at a regular interval could actually change your life.
So, I've decided to do something of that nature but instead of Bitcoin, I'll be buying Polycub at a regular interval.
As you know, all my spare funds for investment comes from my post rewards. It is also the source of my sustenance, meaning I need to manage funds well.
At the time of writing, I have a separate saving with one of my alts that I send 4HBD per day to. This means that every week, 28 HBD goes into that account.
I intend to convert 10 HBD to Polycub every week and just hold it. I originally wanted to stake it in the Xpolycub contract but seeing as I already do that with my daily airdrop from my Cubfinance assets, I figured I should also hold some Polycub.
Just like my Hive alt that holds my weekly savings, I'm using a separate wallet address. This is an address that will not be linked with any smart contact and have zero interaction with the blockchain beyond receiving Polycub every week.
This is a long-term experiment that should be looking quite sexy in 5-10 years' time. At $10 a week saving, I believe it is an experiment that most people on Hive can perform.

You can avoid a lot of mistakes by adding a few extensions to Chrome tbh.
Ublock origin doesn't only block ads, it also recognizes a lot of malicious websites and warns you every time you try to visit them. You can customize it to show ads on custom websites like LeoFinance but block them on all others.
TempMail helps you register on shady websites (if you really need to) without the need to use your personal email. It gives you a throwaway email that you can use for anything you need. Once done change it and move on with life.

Honestly, this is something to look out for, thank for the informative post.
Arbitrage phbd will be very profitable and something we should watch for.

Your situation has inspired a lot of people here to sort out their own security and add a hardware wallet as that extra layer of protection.
If anything good was to come of your situation, then this is it.
