Rabona, taking profit and ambition

I haven't talked about my Rabona team in a long time but that doesn't mean I haven't been playing it regularly. A couple of seasons ago, I was in the thick of the league 1 title battle but recently, my team has dropped far below our usual standard.

I have a small squad but I have to cover a huge wagebill because I'm too lazy to scout out talent. I also decided to keep players long term because I figured it will be good for team chemistry.

The struggles of my team didn't really affect my finances though. Thanks to our performances in the past, we have amassed quite a lot of fans, so that has ensured that we always stay well above water.

At the time of writing, I have a growing fanbase of over 60 million fans from around the world. That is quite huge you see, and that often translates to my stadium getting filled.

I have tinkered with ticket price a couple of times but settled at 60RBN per match and despite our poor performances this season, we still get an average 59% stadium utilisation per match. My stadium capacity is maxed out by the way, so it has 70K seats, meaning I entertain an average of 41k guests for every home game.

The above paragraph means that on average, I earn about 2.4 million RBN per home game. The total squad salary of 755K and the running cost of the club is covered from stadium revenue.

I also have one brand advertising that earns us 1.4M RBN per season. The fund is always reinvested into the club.

Generally speaking, this ensures that my finances are in check and with somewhat young squad of an average age of 24 years, I believe that we have the capacity to push higher up the league.

Ultimately, the goal is to win League 1 and get into the league of champions but that is extremely difficult. There is still competition.

Never taken profit

Ever since I started playing this game, I have never taken profit directly from my team because there's literally no reason to. At the end of every season, I get paid some Hive and that gets spent.

As far as the team is concerned though, every single RBN I earn always gets reinvested into the team. I have decided that I won't rest until I break into the league of champions.

Right now, my major challenge is putting together a winning formula that will enable me to compete at the top of the league.

What I've noticed is that without any tactical acumen, it is very possible to survive in League 1 but to do that, you will need an expensive squad with high ratings.

Having an expensive squad and a properly developed stadium means that you will keep the fans coming but you'll only be breaking even or thereabout every season.

Right now, I'm aiming to add some more quality into the squad and fix an area of the pitch that often lacks depth and quality of personnel. Even the player market doesn't make it easy, because there aren't usually many good midfielders to buy.

Scouting tends to be profitable but it is random and it takes a lot of time before I find any decent player to fit into my team.

Based on the requirements and ambition of Wicked Boys FC, we don't just sign anybody. This is evident in the fact that the average OS(overall strength) of my team is currently 87. We plan to get it up to an average of 92 in three seasons.

No room for complacency

The higher you go, the more difficult it gets and smaller details matter more. This means that I have to consider only players that fit into the system, rather than prioritise based on their OS.

Understanding the player qualities has been a major challenge for me but slowly but surely, I'll get there.

So if you're in the league of champions, don't get comfortable because I'm coming there soon and my plan is not to just participate, I intend to win. First of all, though, I need to win League 1 and find a winning formula that works for my team.

Did you see me asking how do I manage a profitable Rabona team?

How do your finances look?

I just can't afford to renew the contracts of any of my gun players because the wages of even 1 player would blow my entire finances out of the water.

Any tips to get more fans and ultimately make more money?

I tried rabona, I think for now I have taken a pause.

Without upgrading my youth league to the highest level, scouting players are awful and too expensive to buy from the market.

Might just go back again, who knows.

(Edited)

It took me like three seasons to win league 2. I got in a bit early though, so that might be a factor.

Try to increase your team's OS

I was lucky enough to move faster and my team os was very high before giving up, I even got to league 1 but it was so expensive to manage.

That's a cool summary. Rabona is one of "those" games for me. I am a big football fan and I enjoy games like these - everytime I see a post about it, I think to myself: "I gotta start playing this game!", but in the end.. Still haven't touched it 😂

Haha. It's a nice game. I play it semi passively and just like seeing my team rack up the Ws

There is nothing wrong with cashing out at times. We all have different needs and reasons for what we do.

Sometimes selling allows us to get into something new. There are reasons to operate in a manner where some money is taking off the table.

True. Honestly, I'm just trying to avoid selling because RBN tokens isn't worth shit, so why not just use this opportunity to stack them
