I broke into Silver League and I'm just getting started
The past couple of days has been a gruelling Splinterlands experience that has highlighted the level of competition in the game. To put it plainly, the completion is stiff and grinding out of the lower leagues is a big challenge.
Unlike higher leagues where the level of a selected set of monsters is enough to bruise your way through, the lower league presents the "challenge" of a level playing field where strategy reigns supreme.
I found out about this the hard way, as my deck of largely upgraded monsters still struggled to win games in bronze league. However, after a while, I finally sorted out my tactics and started winning a bit more games.
For me, the most difficult part of the experience is probably fighting my way out of the league below Bronze 3. That zone is the absolute ghetto of Splinterlands and a proper crab in the bucket situation as we have many players constantly pushing you back down.
Anyway, once I got out of that one, I had to brawl my way out of Bronze 3, which was generally a much easier experience. I did experience some roadblocks along the way, particularly with getting out of Bronze 2 but overall, it was a smooth journey.
What to add
Getting into Silver league is one thing I can finally cross off my list but this only just puts me in a more challenging position. Despite having what I consider to be a solid deck of cards, I still think that I am not at the level to compete in this neck of the woods.
On a positive note, pretty much all my rare summoners are currently at level 4, which is the maximum level allowed in this level. For now, at least, I won't have to worry about getting in new summoners to compete at this level.
On the flip side, I'll have to add certain monsters to my deck that competing at this level will require. One monster that I know I will absolutely need is level 2 Cornealus and buying that monster is impossible right now.
Other than Cornealus, there are still a couple of other monsters that will cost a fair that I can't afford. So, freshly after exiting the rental market as a supplier, I'll be diving back into the system as a borrower, adding a variety of important and familiar monsters to my deck.
Remember that I rescinded my decision to brawl in the modern category, so I'll be working my way up the wild side. I found the wild side to be a bit less tedious than the modern side since I'm still not too familiar with the abilities of the new guys.
At the time of writing, I have a tentative list of Beta, Orb and older promo monsters, as well as the modern monsters that I'll be adding to my deck. I'll make a different publication where I discuss my rationale for adding them to my deck. Until we meet again, may the odds be in your favour.

get the chaos commons up to level 5 with your level 4 summoners and silver will be a breeze for you.
You were right. I have a couple of powerful legendaries, so I just bruise through in high mana cap battles
Congrats! I started playing Splinterlands last week. It is addictive. I am at Bronze 2 now.
