Splinterlands is a true pioneer in decentralized gaming

While the big gaming companies are hiding and trying to suppress new innovation in the sector which would mean spreading the wealth, Splinterlands has dared to do the opposite since its inception. With the Web3 principles in mind, they have developed from the get-go a blockchain game that was intended to empower users to thrive alongside them. Caring for the community and building a game with real feedback and consideration both ways, they've reached a flourishing economy that acts as a platform for a true gaming metaverse.

Many companies still don't have a clue of what decentralized gaming should look like, but not Splinterlands. They already started the foundation for that through Validator Nodes which will allow users to be active nodes in the game and validate transactions on the blockchain. That's just the beginning and only the sky is the limit to what from the game can be transferred to the players and also get them rewarded for that. Imagining not having any more tens of centralized servers run by Splinterlands, but rather decentralized nodes run by the users. Win-win both ways from the cost point of view and new use cases that can come out of that.

With the expertise building up, Splinterlands is a true pioneer that started understanding the decentralized gaming space and started capitalizing on that and showing the way. Proof of that is the Genesis League Sports which was built on a similar platform as Splinterlands but dedicated entirely to different sports with partnerships with the Leagues in order to bring true reality to it. I see this strategic decision as benefiting the entire ecosystem as new paths will be opened for both ecosystems and those working in one would be able to be ported to the other. Different domains, different experiences, but where success strikes it should be mirrored in both of them.

Having in-game assets as blockchain-based tokens to enable true user ownership is the first step to decentralization. But if you put on top of that Validator node which are active mechanisms to ensure a game can be played and ensure fairness, is simply taking this to the next level. I wonder what will follow after this layer of decentralized Splinterlands/Genesis League Sports, but probably the team is not sleeping on this and already has some ideas in this direction. Probably will find them at some point, but I must say that this ecosystem is thrilling as it can be and while all these developments are done in a bear market, just imagine how it would look like in a bull market. Only the sky is the limit, but maybe nor even that one!

Come and join the only true decentralized play2earn game - Splinterlands!

I think it can only get better from here on, Splinterlands have put a lot into making the game sustainable for the long term and it just keeps developing layers upon layers and incentives upon incentive. Am happy to be part of this.

Not just the legacy gaming companies either.

99% of the blockchain gaming projects don't have a clue what they actually should be trying to achieve.
