Splinterlands gives back to SPS holders through Riftwatchers launch
Splinterlands is provably the best blockchain game built on Hive infrastructure and it never stops developing. While we witness great success with the Chaos Legion edition in which the funds were revenue for the company, it is time to give some back through the Riftwatchers launch. How? Simply put the entire revenue of the 3M packs into the SPS DAO for the benefit of all token holders. That remains to be seen how will be used, but I feel some voting might come our way in order to decide how to best use these funds.
I believe this is a genius marketing move empowering SPS holders to want to have a bigger piece of the pie and participate in the game's governance. I never heard of any other game running a $15M sale (3M packs x $5) and not taking a penny out of it. This shows commitment to making this the greatest blockchain game ever and keeping its tokenomics healthy. Having the limitation of buying packs only with SPS and Vouchers ($5 and 1 Voucher per pack), that alone should push the price for these assets up. And seeing this, how not to play2earn and have fun doing it?
The sale details are as follows:
- Pack Name: Rift Gems (see the "Gems" tab in the Splinterlands shop)
- Pack Presale Launch Date: Sept. 15th, 2022 2:00 PM ET / 18:00 UTC
- ESTIMATED Riftwatchers Set Release: Sept. 27th, 2022
- Total Packs: 3,000,000
- Cards: 43 cards in total, 13 commons, 12 rare, 6 epic (Summoners), and 12 legendaries (including 5 airdrops, not including the limited edition promo card)
- Pricing: $5.00 USD worth of SPS (at current external market pricing) + 1 VOUCHER
- Bonus Packs: Bulk purchases of Riftwatchers packs in a single transaction will be eligible for bonus packs at the rates below for a cost of 1 VOUCHER token per bonus pack:
100+ packs = 10% bonus packs
500+ packs = 15% bonus packs
2000+ packs = 20% bonus packs
As we can see bonuses await at each corner through airdropped cards, so that should be an incentive to get some sweet Riftwatchers packs. On top of that, I think that being promo cards, they might bring also additional bonuses in SPS rewarded ranked battles, so that would mean fighting as a disadvantage if not buying and holding any. It is hard to stay on the sidelines seeing this release and I have great expectations for the rejuvenation of the game, so let's see if that plays out as predicted. And now one question for you: Are you ready to storm into some Riftwatchers packs?

Yeah, SPS is a valuable asset in the game and it will govern everything that takes shape within the Splinterlands. Still, there were some good times when its price was high, so those who sold at that point really took some hefty profits. Now the price is too undervalued, I would think to sell any only at above $0.10, while my wishful price is to see it even at $0.20 (which is still nowhere near $1 where it was in the beginning).

Indeed, I remember those times! Was looking at my Financial freedom at that time. Got like 300 SpS airdropped each day back then... it was crazy! Haha that did not last... but I believe it will get back there and even higher in the future. If all of the validators get sold you would probably look at those prices again. A validator in the last tranch will cost $40k and for the validators to be sold at that price the price of SPS is needs to be at least $1 dollar. Pretty sick and extremely smart system. Thevgame is here to stay and are even doing it great in bear markets so SPS is kinda a no brainer to hodl🤑😎🤓🤓🤓
