Splinterlands - Completing the first campaign - Book 1 Waur Medge Academy

While I am an OG player in Splinterlands, I took the time to complete the first campaign in the game entitled "Book 1 Waur Medge Academy". And to tell you the truth, it was a fun experience and I enjoyed the storyline and the challenges it presented along the way. The campaign provided me a great way to remember the game mechanics and the lore from Splinterlands. While I enjoyed, I am sure that the new players will appreciated and will have a good introduction to the game and the details they need to pay attention to if they want to be a great warrior in the Splinterlands realm. And now, let me tell you few of my opinions about this first campaign.

The campaign experience

The campaign consisted of a series of battles against computer-controlled opponents, each with its own unique deck and strategy. Players must select their team of cards, considering the strengths and weaknesses of both their own cards and those of their opponents. The battles are turn-based, allowing players to understand, strategize and adapt the tactics based on the evolving state of the game. I wonder if this can be extended to use AI opponents to make the campaigns more challenging and dynamic. Just some thought for the future.

Learning curve

The campaign serves as an excellent introduction to the game mechanics, gradually increasing in difficulty. It teaches participants about the different card abilities, mana costs, and the importance of team formation. Each battle requires players to think smart about choices to have, making it a valuable learning experience for both new and returning players. At the end of it I remembered different tactics and strategies that I had forgotten about, which was a nice refresher. And as we all know it, there is no limit to what we can learn, thus we should always be open to it.

Rewards along the way

As I've progressed through the campaign, I've earn rewards such as new cards and Glint in-game currency. These rewards not only enhanced my collection but also provided a sense of accomplishment and motivation to continue. The campaign's structure encouraged me to explore different card combinations and strategies. I will be waiting for the next campaign to be released, as I am sure it will be a great addition to the game. I am doing this also because I didn't buy any new edition cards and these allow me have some fun in modern format without having to buy new cards. Or at least, I think so... :)

Another gameplay mode

The campaign mode adds another layer to the Splinterlands experience, allowing players to engage with the game in a more structured and narrative-driven way. It complements the traditional battles by providing a single-player experience that can be enjoyed at one's own pace. This mode is particularly useful for beginners and new players, as it offers a less intimidating environment to learn the game mechanics without the pressure of competing against seasoned players.

My conclusion

In conclusion, my journey through the first Splinterlands campaign was more than just another gameplay mode. It confirmed my strategy in the game and the fact that I have a good grasp on it and that I am usually applying it right. The only thing that I am missing is time in order to capitalize on the gameplay and boost my earnings. I look forward to future campaigns and the continued evolution of Splinterlands as a game. I liked the campaign mode as it enriches the lore and community engagement within the universe built around the game. I encourage both new and veteran players to jump into the campaign and experience its unique challenges and rewards.
