Expanding from Splinterlands to Genesis League Sports

Genesis League Sports is incepted to be the new frontier in digital sports gaming, intertwining the best of Web2 with Web3 to provide enjoyment and leisure to its growing fanbase. The baseline for the new platform is, in my opinion, the community from Splinterlands considering that the same creators are expanding into a new domain and they can dive into an existing platform to capture users. As I am a football (soccer) fan I couldn't miss this opportunity and get into the action since the 1st presale of a new collectible game.

As the Binance deposits after Hive Hardfork still were in maintenance mode and as I didn't have too many Hive funds at my disposal I had to settle for 17 packs which I had acquired with my liquid Hive. My intention was to grab at least 100 packs in order to enjoy some goodies from the team. If the Binance maintenance on Hive operations will be completed I will make use of that, but if not probably I will take some HBD from my Savings account to accomplish that. But nevertheless, I think there is a good advantage in order to still getting the perks from the presale.

Some of the perks and incentives for getting early in Genesis League Soccer and buying packs are the following:

  • Bonus packs based on the purchase tier as 10% for 100 packs, 15% for 500 packs, and 20% for 2000 packs
  • 100 packs purchased will open closed Beta access
  • Every 100 packs purchased will receive a free manager's license
  • Every 500 packs purchased will receive a limited edition NFT title

  • The top 10 purchasers in pre-sale will get their likeness on a coach card and be part of the design process of their card

A new sports metaverse will open together with the Genesis League Sports and the thing I am thrilled about is that it partners with big leagues like the MLS in order to add besides the game itself a collector flavor to every NFT. This can be more powerful than the game itself and true collectors should participate only for that. If you add that the game is developed by the Splinterlands team with their vision and know-how on blockchain gaming, I think that's a recipe for success.

I have heard a bit about the manager license but I think it's a pretty big barrier to entry for people who want to earn off the game. Is this the only way for people to get the play to earn aspect?

Yeah, that's what I want to get as I think some tokenomics will depend on it. Probably like the summoners from Splinterlands the Managers might play an important role in the game.

My tastes are more to the NFL (Philadelphia Eagles, thank you), but this was a no-brainer to get involved in and I was happy to be able to pick up some packs on day one.

I think it will be exciting to run a soccer club, and I think the managers license will be a fun addition to be able to do that. We'll be able to open our packs in Feburary. I can't wait! :)

I think it is a good start and based on the game's success more sports will be added. Nevertheless, this is a genius move to create a sports metaverse considering the huge number of fans and also the collectible element.

Football (soccer) is the king of all sports and competitions like the Champions League simply display the best games in the world. Great to see this game see first the day of light on the platform and hopefully they will expand in Europe as there's where the stars play.

I think this game has a chance to be big.

Although I haven't invested in it yet I do see the potential.
