Splinterlands decalogue

Hola gamers! 🎮 If you ever asked yourself “why Splinterlands?”, today you’ll get the answer. This is not just another card game, this is a universe built on blockchain, powered by Hive, and supported by one of the strongest communities in Web3.
Since 2018 Splinterlands has grown non-stop: new sets, new mechanics, stronger tokenomics, and even a Free-to-Play mode to bring everyone inside. It has survived bear markets, it has given real ownership to players, and it has proven that strategy, skill, and community can live together in a single battlefield.
So get ready, porque aquí viene el Splinterlands Decalogue 🐉 — 10 reasons why this game is special and either it's a proof of how proud summoners can be of our game or why you should jump in today . ⚔️

1. From Hive to Eternity 🐝
Splinterlands was created in 2018, first as Steem Monsters, and later it found its real home on Hive blockchain. Hive is fast, with almost zero fees, and 100% community-driven. That gives Splinterlands a perfect ground to grow. Every card in your deck is a real NFT: you own it, you can rent it to others, sell it on the market, or keep it forever as part of your collection. Many games just let you play, but #Splinterlands lets you own your progress.
2. Easy to Learn, Hard to Master 🧠
The rules look simple: pick a summoner, pick some monsters, and battle. But behind that, there is endless depth. You have six main Splinters (Fire, Water, Earth, Life, Death, Dragon), plus Neutral cards. Battles can change with over 80 different rulesets like Fog of War, Reverse Speed, or Earthquake. Add more than 100 abilities like Sneak, Heal, Retaliate, Bloodlust… and suddenly the battlefield becomes a giant chessboard. It’s easy to start playing, but mastering the combinations is a real challenge — and that’s what keeps it fun.
3. Always Moving Forward 🚀
For more than seven years, Splinterlands never stopped. Every season, every expansion, something new arrives: Chaos Legion, Rebellion, Conclave Arcana, skins, arenas, Glint shop, raffles… The devs keep pushing content, so the game always feels alive. It’s not a frozen project — it’s a living world that evolves with its players.
4. Power to the Players 🗳️
Unlike classic games where one company controls everything, Splinterlands built the SPS DAO Treasury. That means governance is in the hands of players who stake SPS. From how funds are used, to what features should come next, the community has a real voice. This is true Web3 spirit: decentralisation and transparency, so no one can “pull the plug” on your fun.
5. A Team that Never Quits 👨💻
Behind the DAO, there is also a strong team. CEO Yabapmatt and developers have been here since day one, building and listening. They have shared their vision to keep developing the game for at least seven more years. That’s a powerful statement in a space where many projects disappear in months. Splinterlands is here for the long run.
6. Solid Tokenomics, Real Utility 💰
The game runs on two main tokens:
- DEC (Dark Energy Crystals): used to buy items, trade resources, rent cards, and interact in the ecosystem.
- SPS (Splintershards): the governance token, for staking, rewards, and DAO decisions.
This dual-token system creates balance in the best #play2earn. DEC powers the in-game economy, while SPS makes you part of the future of Splinterlands. Tokens are not just for speculation — they have daily use.
7. Battle-Tested Through Bear Markets” 🐻⚔️
Splinterlands has lived through two heavy bear markets. In that time, many projects died, but this one survived, even expanded. Why? Because it has real utility, daily active players, and consistent sales of cards and packs. The fact that Splinterlands is still standing after so many crypto winters shows how strong the foundation is.
8. Choose Your Arena 🏟️
Splinterlands offers something for every kind of gamer:
Ranked battles for regular grinding, Tournaments with special formats and prizes, Guild Brawls where teamwork matters, Modern and Wild formats to try different metas.
You can play casually for fun or push hard for glory. There is always a battlefield waiting for your style.
9. Free to Try, Easy to Love 🎁
Not sure if the game is for you? No problem! Splinterlands made a Free-to-Play mode so new players can join without spending. You can test the mechanics, feel the excitement of battles, and understand the strategy before deciding if you want to invest. It’s a door wide open for every curious gamer.
10. An Economy Made by Gamers, for Gamers 🌍
Splinterlands is more than cards and battles. With Land, players can harvest resources, craft items, and trade them with others. Guild shops and player-driven markets make the economy alive. It’s a full ecosystem where your time, skill, and strategy create value. Not only do you play, but you also build part of the world.
Gamers, this is why Splinterlands is different. It’s not hype, it’s not a trend that fades away. It’s a project with history, constant development, real ownership, strong community, and vision for the future.
If you are looking for a game where strategy matters, where every card counts, and where your time has value, Splinterlands is waiting. Try the free mode, feel the rush of your first victory, and you’ll see why so many of us are hooked.
Keep grinding, keep building, and see you in the arena! ⚔️

I agree very much with these points! Those are the reasons that I'm so happy with the game, and the community - the latter you forgot in the 10 points, and at least for me it's a huge factor that benefits the game. Thanks for putting these together!
Let's hope Uptober comes with fresh news to our beloved Splinterlands! #Vonak
I'm looking forward to the new reward set! Though I hope I can finish the last one, still missing around 20 CC of legendaries.
As we have spoken previously, we've got diferent strategies. I prefer to spend glint to get some Alchemies for conflicts and save the rest. Won't spend glint on legendaries to finish my collection as they are so much niche. I hope next reward set brings stapples, what I love the most for my collection!
Yeah, I'm too much of an perfectionist to let the collection be unfinished :-D alchemy for conflicts is a good idea, I will keep that in mind
Nice article, those are all great points! It's important to keep in mind all the good things about Splinterlands when things get discouraging. I'm looking forward to this new reward set of cards.
The future that is waiting for us will be legendary! Thanks for stepping by and commenting! Vonak!
