What could go wrong?
Prologue
I finally breached the 1-LPE-Threshold! I currently produce 5.278 DEC per hour, which translates to 1,056 DEC/h/plot, which is the LPE metric. It's still a long way to get to my goals, but this is one big step into the right direction.
My main goal for 2025 is to stake 50k DEC on one of my grain plots, and 50k on my stone plots. I hope it will be all Beta-Edition cards, probably maxed rares, but we'll see how prices develop. That should bring me to around 7.5 DEC/h just from those two plots.
To reach that goal, there are - as always - events that can boost me, and events that will slow me down. Here are a few thoughts about that.
Status Quo
Total staked DEC has gone to 80k now, which is quite a big chunk for me. But I'm still far away from the 250k that is possible with my 5 plots.
I'm currently focused on boosting the two grain plots to provide enough grain for my stone (and the little wood and iron). Whenever I replace a card on the Stone-Plot or the Bog, the Iron plot gets an upgrade, too.
The Desert already has 2 maxed cards, and is working with a title that gives another 10% bonus.
Risks
Stone price / resources in general
Main risk is the prices for stone. As we can see in the BLT (Beaker's Land Tool), the prices for resources are dropping. Currently, the Iron and Wood are under the peg-threshold for grain. They still make some profit, but it's not as much as it's supposed to be. And the prices are falling.
The current gains with my standard plot system (60,500 PP on two plots) would be:
That includes the grain cost already, and the taxes, so it's net profit.
As I'm focused on Stone, the main risk is for that price to go down before the others go up. That would destroy my LPE quite a bit, as I'm betting on that resource to stay scarce.
Card prices
(from Monstercard.store)
Besides certain land owners snatching cards right in front of your nose, a positive development for card price is a negative development for me. The more I have to pay, the longer it will take to reach my goal. Currently, prices for the cards that interest me (Beta Rare) start at around 27 cent/CC, which is okay. I usually buy below 30 cent/CC.
There are some good cards for that available, even some already maxed out ones. Slowly, I'm growing my stack in that.
Availability of Cards
Even though the CPC (Card-Production-Coefficient) of Beta Rare GF is a lot better, it's harder to get to a maxed out card there as there aren't many cards left on sale.
To substitute one max lvl Beta Rare with 5,500 PP, I'd need 6 CC of Beta Rare GF. There's not much on the market with enough CC to achieve that.
Hence, the risk is to bet on the wrong horse, and having to work with a non-maxed-card in the far future.
Tailwinds
New Resource Sinks
Both the Pickle as well as the new Voucher-Card include several ways to win special editions of the cards - for which aura is needed, and aura needs resources.
Even though the price for Midnight Potions has dropped after the launch of CA and is now barely profitable (or so I was told), the inclusion of Aura as a payment resource is an opportunity for all resources, including my stone. I hope the team finds more and more ways to integrate land resources into the game, like the revival-potions for survival and such.
Card prices
Yes, this works both ways. Beta Rare Max are currently going down in price, which is great for me as those are my target. That doesn't mean that they can't go up, but as the hype around land has subsided, I don't think there will be a sudden steep upwards move. The next one will probably be when the Revival-Potions are released, or any other bigger sink is integrated into the game.
See the dip to 31 and back? That was me snatching that Pit Ogre. It's now working the quarry, as it feels at home there.
Conclusion
It's fun to see the progress. I am focusing more on land than I should, I really need to up my game with the CA cards. But the satisfaction of buying a max beta rare is higher now than buying 30 starter packs. And, the goal on land seems to be closer to reach than my CA-Gold-League-Deck.
Also, having a steady influx of 120 DEC/day is nice, though it doesn't look like much. But everything accumulates over time, and before I know it, I'll be at 200 DEC/day. That's a starter pack every 5 days.
