Switching production after the September harvest.
Prologue
So, we're done with September, the jokes of waking good old Billy Joe Armstrong have subsided, and it's time to look back and calculate my favorite part of the month - my Splinterlands earnings!
Value Situation
I did spend some FIAT on Splinterlands in September, but a lot less than the months before due to the start of school and the bonuses I pay the workers to buy school stuff for the kids and all that. It's a lot in Ecuador.
until May | June | July | August | September |
---|---|---|---|---|
$7,330 | $453 | $416 | $496 | $233 |
So, my total buy-in is now at $8,928. It's getting close to 10k. Wow. That's scary. And I already spent my budget for October on a Lorkus lvl 3, so...
Peakmonsters values my card collection at $8,110. So, on the value side we have:
Item | Tokens | Token Value | USD Value |
---|---|---|---|
Cards | $8,110 | ||
Land | 7 common, 1 rare | $15/$30 | $135 |
Boosts | 1 Totem C, 1 Totem R, 1 Title R | $15/$60/$65 | $130 |
SPS | 173,360 SPS | $0,0076 | $1,320 |
Staked DEC | 144,000 DEC | $0,00065 | $93 |
Total | $9,788 |
This does not include my BFA Cindergrim nor my GF Mermaid, as those are not listed and for that reason it doesn't show up anywhere.
While in my last post about this I was holding a loss of $460, I know am $900 in the green - despite the decline in value of both SPS and DEC since then. Most is due to card value, going up almost 25% from $6500.
I started playing seriously, buying SPS and assets in March 2024, so that's now 19 Months ago. If I cashed out now, I'd have gained $50 per month.
What is not included here is the spending that came from my HIVE earnings, as those are generated within the ecosystem.
Splinterland Tokens
SPS
I worked myself up to 173k SPS, 8k of that came in September. Okay I did buy 1k on the market when HIVE was high and SPS was low, but that was it. The goal of 175k SPS is just a couple of weeks away.
After a decline from July to August, September had a nice recovery:
SPS Earnings 2025 | June 2025 | July 2025 | Aug 25 | Sept 25 | Growth m/m | Growth Total |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Tournaments | 1329 | 3538 | 2400 | 3844 | 60% | 189% |
Ranked & Brawls | 2328 | 2318 | 2846 | 2797 | -2% | 20% |
Bought on the Market | 1310 | 800 | 150 | 1150 | 667% | -12% |
Staking Rewards | 734 | 741 | 740 | 712 | -1% | -3% |
Others | 2 | 2,340 | 2,252 | 0 | -100% | -100% |
Total | 5598 | 7401 | 6139 | 8503 | 39% | 52% |
Since I'm focusing on tournaments more and have the cards to do so, I'm making a lot more SPS in that, almost three times what I made back in June when I started tracking. September was the best month so far. That also impacts the total monthly SPS income, which has gone up by 50%, with 40% month over month. I really like what I'm seeing here.

DEC
DEC is still going down. Mainly due to the many fees for tournaments.
DEC Income | June 2025 | July 2025 | Aug 25 | Sept 25 | Growth |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Profit Land Sales | 1621 | 3628 | 1504 | 4898 | 226% |
Rent Income | 6131 | 6181 | 6.989 | 3582 | -49% |
Tournaments | -3260 | -5500 | -4.175 | -8450 | 102% |
Wild Pass | -4000 | -2000 | -6.000 | -4000 | |
Total | 2491,182 | 2309,708 | -1681,834 | -3970 | 136% |
As expected, the growth in sales from Land has skyrocketed - it better, considering the investment that I procured in August. Yet, as stone prices are falling sharply, I had to change strategy, as explained below.
I spent more than twice as much in tournaments, and rent income went down by 50%. That's not a good combo. But the SPS:DEC conversion rate makes up for everything.
Land
I did buy cards for Land again. There were 2 GF Beta Epics for $25 each! That's a CPC of only 2,9! I've never seen a CPC that low, so I had to.
In total, I spent around 100$ in cards for land. Right now, I'm doing and important shift - I took my rare totem and my rare title away from my rare stone plot, and put them on my Grain Plot. Same goes for two big PP cards. Grain is way more valuable at the moment, so it doesn't make sense to have those cards working on stone, with a grain factor of only 0.72.

In three days, this should look very different again, as around 27k PP should land on grain. Thanks to the BLT, we can now look at our production nicely summarized. Click here for my production summary.

My efficiency is still at 81%, and when the switch is done, my productivity will be higher than ever. Not sure about the efficiency, though, as I will lose the terrain and rarity boost on the GF Epic Beta.

I still make more than 8 DEC/h with my land, around 75k DEC per year.
Land Value
Last time, I had a total Land value of $1,200. The value of my cards, plots and DEC has since dropped a lot, unfortunately, so it's only around $1,000 now.
Asset | Value |
---|---|
Cards | $640 |
Totems | $75 |
Title | $65 |
Plots | $135 |
Staked DEC | $93 |
Total | $1008 |
DEC | 1,550,800 |
aROI | 4.8% |
aROI as gone down a little, too, but that is because there are some cards not working at the moment. They will be again, shortly. And we'll see in the next summary how that goes!
Conclusion
The conversion rate SPS:DEC of 1:11.65 is really making a dent in my earnings. Together with the focus on tournaments (which is basically converting DEC to SPS at a very amazing rate), I bumped my total DEC earnings by 30% in September, month over month.

With $54,50 in September, I'm almost at the $55 that I wanted - for November. I already crushed the 70k DEC goal by far, but take into account that since my last report, DEC has dropped 17% from $0,00078 to $0,00065.

That's it. I'm very happy with the results, though crawling through the data still takes some time. I took out some graphs and info that I deemed redundant.

Tournament SPS earnings really stand out...
Yes, I had missed a few in August, but in September I'm rolling. I have to change my playing time, though - I lose a lot of the battles because I do them at the end of the day, when I'm tired and not really focused. I now play almost every tournament in sight, even if there's no change of getting high in the leaderboard. But usually, I get get at least in the lowest SPS prize tier.
Thanks for sharing! - @rehan12

Nice post,
SPS earnings are up and big part is coming from tournaments well done 👏
I see you have a well balanced approach on land:

I'm changing that approach a lot at the moment, from stone to grain. The 0.75 ratio is just too much. Totem and Title are already on a different plot, the best cards will follow.
Rent for cards is a little lower at the moment, though, so I'll calculate if that works for the idle plots.
