Selling all your assets, leaving Splinterlands? I hope not, but here's how.

So I was on twitter and roaming around, commenting here and there, a free time occupation I sometimes indulge. I was saying how much this community has welcomed me after coming back, but I got this comment:

It's a bit sad seeing someone wanting to leave, of course, but I don't think anyone wants to put stones in their way nor will I be stoned for helping out. Maybe on the contrary, we active players could snatch some cheap cards.

So, here's a comprehensive guide on how to dissolve your Splinterlands card collection quickly and get BTC or whatever. I recommend DOGE as the minimum withdraw is lowest.

Selling your collection with @spltrader

SPL Trader is an awesome tool, that charges a very low fee for the service it provides. Here's a post made a month ago about trading, but just selling is a little different.

image.png

Most of this is already done when you connect your account. If you only wish to sell, you can ignore the Trade Settings and the RC part. You scroll down right to the "Accounts" part:

.

Insert the name of your main account (I have a trading account set apart, but for a sell-out, you can just use your main account).

Active Key is required for sales. I've been using this tool for 4 months now, never regretted putting in that crucial key. But that's me - you assess your own risk! If you don't feel well giving that important part of your account away, then rather sell your cards by hand.

When that's done, go to the "Trades section":

image.png

There, go to "Add cards", enter the name of your account and click on "Get UIDS". The tool will automatically load all cards that are eligible for sale (unlocked etc.)

image.png

You can put in minimum sell prices and such, review the UIDs, and so on - there are a lot of hints everywhere when putting your mouse about the little "i" in the circle. But since you just want to get the hell out of here ( 😢 ), just add.

The cards will be automatically added to your list, like the GF Supply Runner in the picture above - but not exactly the same. It will look like this:

Combine all your cards as high as possible before you sell them! That's the lesson from the Sticky Bomb. If you have cheap cards at least at level 2, it makes it easier to sell.

I sold. Now what?

You'll have a lot of DEC in your account. Transfer it to your HIVE-Engine account. Explanation below each picture, it's step-by-step.

Click on transfer.

Choose "Hive Engine" in the "to" section, and then click on max, then transfer and confirm. All your DEC will appear in your hive-engine account.

There it is!

On the top of the page, find "SWAP" and click on it.

Put in DEC first at the from, then BTC or DOGE or ETH or whatever you want (mind the minimum withdrawals!), and then the amount of DEC you want to swap. You can copy & paste the current balance to get rid of it all. Click on the red "SWAP" Button at the end of the field, and wait until the swap is complete.

I will not swap my current DEC here to BTC, as I wish to stay in the game and think that DEC and SPS will appreciate more than BTC 😝

When the swap is completed, click on "Withdraw".

Choose BTC or any other coin (I recommend DOGE, the minimum amount is a lot lower) enter your Withdraw adress (the adress of your Bitcoin Wallet that you want the BTC withdrawn to) and click withdraw. The 0.75% fee are automatically taken from what you send.

Congratulations. You left Splinterlands. It's a sad day for all of us.

I hope this guide helps some frustrated people like the one commenting on my very upbeat twitter-post. It's sad that people want to leave for whatever reasons - but it's great to have so many new people coming in, and I think it's better for them to know that it's not as hard as they believe to get their money back.

No investment advice. Make your own wise and smart decisions, like I decide for myself to keep rocking SPL 😛

Actually, you can start playing without anything. The New-Player-Experience has improved a lot in the last year, so you can try it out without spending a dime - as far as I understood it. Would be cool if you'd use my referral link: https://splinterlands.com/register?ref=beelzael

That way I get a little extra if you decide to invest :-)

I'm confused so did you actually sell O.o or u just showing people how to sell. Anyways I think it's a good time for splinterlands. one of the og web3 games thats still building even thru bear market. they made some mistakes but that's normal I think since they were frontrunning web3 games where you don't really have any example to look up to. Things have been looking up for the past few months; hope they keep it up

Huh, I thought I made that very clear at several points in the post 😄 No, I'm not selling, I'm buying. Way too much. Shouldn't do that. But I'm really bullish on SPS and Splinterlands, so ...

It was because of a comment made on twitter. I saw a need for a guide for those players who unfortunately have to or want to leave. So I wrote it.

The process is not new to me but the service is new (to me) :-)

Yes, I think it's very clear how to get out once you've played SPL for a while and know your way around Hive. But it seems that it's not clear to everyone :-)

The trader is very useful, I already bought quite a few cards with it, and the trading is going well, too.
