Making Of my CBRS Infographic Contest Entry

( EN / DE ) CBRS has announced a contest for a HIVE infographic and since I spontaneously had a vague idea how something like that could look like, I had decided to participate.
Only afterwards I realized that I am not sure if I can do it and if my idea really fits into the concept "infographic". But I worked it out now anyway and here you can find my thoughts, intentions and the making of it.
CBRS hat einen Kontest für eine HIVE Infographik ausgeschrieben und da ich spontan eine vage Idee hatte, wie so etwas aussehen könnte, hatte ich beschlossen daran teilzunehmen.
Erst im Nachhinein wurde mir klar, dass ich gar nicht sicher bin, ob ich das auch kann und ob meine Idee wirklich in das Konzept "Infographik" passt. Aber ich habe es nun dennoch ausgearbeitet und hier findet ihr meine Gedanken, Absichten und das Making of davon.

I chose the 2nd theme - Hive Communities and Content - because that's the side of the HIVE Blockchain that is all around "mine".
Ich habe mich für das 2. Thema - Hive Communities and Content - entschieden, da das die Seite der HIVE Blockchain ist, die rundherum "meins" ist.

Based on the idea that everything is connected to everything here, it was of course obvious to draw one of my little neurodrawings as a base once again. And I liked it right away, so I created the neurographics based on this template on the PC.
Ausgehend von dem Gedanken, dass hier alles mit allem verbunden ist war natürlich naheliegend, mal wieder eine meiner kleinen Neurozeichnungen als Basis zu zeichnen. Und sie hat mir auf Anhieb gut gefallen, also habe ich die Neurographik nach dieser Vorlage auf dem PC erstellt.

The bubbles were simple, with polylines on the PC I'm always a bit at war, because I do not see through their logic, but it worked very well.
Die Bubbles waren einfach, mit Polylinien am PC stehe ich immer etwas auf Kriegsfuß, weil ich deren Logik nicht durchschaue, aber es hat dann doch sehr gut funktiniert.

I deliberately did not use the usual HIVE colors red and black, because first of all I personally don't like this color combination very much and secondly I can still remember very well when I first discovered this world, the technical and dark websites rather kept me away from it.
That's mainly why I found my way here via ecency as well, because it just suited my taste more.
Auf die üblichen HIVE Farben rot und schwarz habe ich ganz bewusst verzichtet, denn erstens mag ich persönlich diese Farbkombination nicht sehr und zweitens kann ich mich noch sehr gut daran erinnern, als ich diese Welt zum ersten mal entdeckte, haben mich die technischen und dunklen Webseiten eher davon fern gehalten.
Vor allem deshalb habe ich meinen Weg hierher auch über ecency gefunden, weil es einfach mehr meinem Geschmack entsprach.

And finally, the community on HIVE is not only black and white / black and red. but very very colorful!
Und schließlich ist auch die Community auf HIVE nicht nur schwarz und weiss / schwarz und rot. sonder sehr sehr bunt gemischt!

Here I also decided not to include the originally planned HIVE logo and also no other logos of the Dapps. These logos are very meaningful for us Hive users, but for an outsider they mean nothing.
So I only added the gray HIVE lettering in the background
Hier habe ich mich auch dazu entschieden, das ursprünglich geplante HIVE Logo und auch sonst keine Logos der Dapps einzubauen. Diese Logos sind zwar für uns Hive User sehr aussagekräftig, für einen Außenstehenden bedeuten sie aber rein gar nichts.
Also habe ich nur den grauen HIVE Schriftzug im Hintergrund eingefügt

Arriving at this point in the design, I had briefly considered possibly making the graphic longer to have more space for information.
But strictly speaking, we know that no one reads anyway if there is too much text. So I left it at the keywords and added only a little explanatory text.
An diesem Punkt der Gestaltung angekommen hatte ich kurz überlegt, die Grafik eventuell länger zu machen um mehr Platz für Informationen zu haben.
Aber genau genommen wissen wir, dass ohnehin niemand liest, wenn zuviel Text vorhanden ist. Also habe ich es bei den Stichworten belassen und nur ein wenig erklärenden Text zugefügt.

Nachfolgend seht ihr nocheinmal den ersten skizzierten Entwurf und die fertige Infografik, um sie miteinander zu vergleichen.

HIVE Community - colorful mixed, but all connected across our usual "think bubbles" and across all distances, from all corners of the earth, we find each other, learn from each other and grow together.
HIVE Community - bunt gemischt, aber alle mit allen Verbunden über unsere üblichen "Denk Bubbles" und über alle Entfernungen, aus allen Winkeln der Erde hinweg, finden wir zueinander, lernen voneinander und wachsen gemeinsam.
