Easter Monday - The Last Easter Day and a Long Weekend

With this day today, Easter 2022 is now over. Today was still a holiday in our country, Easter Monday is virtually like a second Sunday attached to the weekend.
I love these long weekends, there is so much more peace and quiet. Probably all people would be much more balanced and healthier if we had two days off every weekend. Or at least, like in the past, the stores would close at noon on Saturday.
But we are all so addicted to consumerism that we can no longer switch off. I can't remember my grandparents or parents ever having anything like "weekend or freetime stress"! We have all become driven, constantly more, constantly action, only not once just do nothing. I find that very unfortunate, but of course everyone as he wants. Nevertheless, one may also like to question whether our "normal life" is really still normal?

So a long, beautiful weekend with a lot of family, too much food, a lot of fun but also with a lot of quiet times comes to an end. Today there was except breakfast only a salad from the leftovers from the barbecue yesterday and I'm still papp full. Then I watched a movie again for a long time, basically just to test whether the TV still works ;-) They were super nice days, I enjoyed them and now I'm looking forward to when spring is finally fully there and it will slowly become summertime.

By the way, if you like to use good olive oil in the kitchen, it might be a good idea to look for a large batch, which you can usually get in Greek or Turkish stores. You can then simply fill the oil into a nice carafe for daily use and in the end you have even saved a little with it and supported a small store.

Ostermontag - der letzte Tag des Osterfestes

Mit diesem Tag heute ist Ostern 2022 auch schon wieder vorbei. Heute war hierzulande ja noch ein Feiertag, der Ostermontag ist quasi wie ein zweiter Sonntag an das Wochenende dran gehängt.
Ich liebe diese langen Wochenenden, es kehrt so viel mehr Ruhe ein. Wahrscheinlich wären alle Menschen viel ausgeglichener und gesünder, wenn wir jedes Wochenende zwei Tage frei hätten. Oder wenigstens wie früher einmal am Samstag die Geschäfte mittags schon schließen würden.
Aber wir sind ja alle so sehr dem Konsumwahn verfallen, dass wir gar nicht mehr abschalten können. Ich kann mich nicht erinnern, dass meine Großeltern oder Eltern jemals so etwas wie „Freizeit Stress“ hatten! Wir alle sind zu Getriebenen geworden, ständig mehr, ständig Action, bloß nicht einmal einfach nur nichts tun. Das finde ich sehr schade, aber natürlich jeder wie er will. Dennoch darf man auch mal gerne hinterfragen, ob unser „normales Leben“ wirklich noch normal ist?

So geht also ein langes, schönes Wochenende mit viel Familie, viel zu viel Essen, viel Spaß aber auch mit viel Ruhe Zeiten zu Ende. Heute gab es außer Frühstück nur noch einen Salat aus den Resten vom Grillen gestern und ich bin immer noch papp satt. Dann habe ich seit langem mal wieder einen Film angesehen, im Grunde nur um zu testen, ob der Fernseher noch funktioniert ;-) Es waren super schöne Tage, ich habe sie genossen und jetzt freue ich ich, wenn der Frühling endlich voll da ist und es langsam Sommer wird.

Wer übrigens gerne gutes Olivenöl in der Küche benutzt, für den empfiehlt es sich vielleicht mal nach einer großen Charge Ausschau zu halten, die man meist in griechischen oder türkischen Läden bekommt. Man kann das Öl dann einfach in eine schöne Karaffe für den täglichen Gebrauch füllen und am Ende hat man sogar ein wenig gespart damit und einen kleinen Laden unterstützt.

Ich hoffe ihr alle hattet auch so eine schöne Zeit und viel Freude im Kreise eurer Lieben. Dann geht es jetzt wohl auf ins "normale" ;-) Alltagsleben :-) Eure B.
