The Weekly Frontier Draws

This week I want to share my take on the brand-new Weekly Frontier Draws that were just introduced into Splinterlands. It’s one of those updates that instantly caught my attention because it combines the daily grind we all do with the chance to win some seriously valuable cards.

So what’s it all about? Let’s dive in.

What Are Weekly Frontier Draws?

A new weekly drawing system has been added for some of the most exciting card types in the game: Gold Foil Arcane, Black Foil, and Black Foil Arcane cards. Each week, a total of 76 cards will be awarded to unique players who enter the draw.

How do you get entries? Simple: by completing your daily quests.

  • Bronze League = 1 entry per quest
  • Silver League = 2 entries per quest
  • Gold League = 3 entries per quest

There will be other ways to earn entries, like in league advancement. That makes it really accessible, especially for new players.

Other Updates Around Frontier

The team didn’t stop at just adding the draws. They also made some solid adjustments around rewards:

  • Daily Quest Rewards: now scale with your current rank instead of your maximum rank reached.
  • Campaign Rewards: moving forward, these will be account-bound Foundation cards. You can’t trade or sell them, but they make sure new players have the basics to play without needing the market right away. (Don’t worry, cards already generated stay the same.)
  • Frontier Advancement Chests: these have been rebalanced. Now you’ve got:
    • 40% chance → Foundation cards
    • 20% chance → potions
    • 20% chance → Frontier Energy
    • 20% chance → Frontier Draw entries
  • Potions: you can now use Alchemy and Legendary potions when claiming your daily Frontier card rewards.

Overall, I’d say this is a strong batch of improvements that makes the grind more rewarding while also keeping it balanced for both free-to-play and paying players.

Why This Is Big

These foil cards can carry serious value. Imagine you’re a new player who just spent $10 on a spelbook. You grind out your quests, stack up entries, and boom, you pull a Black Foil card.

The market right now is wild. Some of these are listed for extremely high prices (I’d call it “first wave hype” since not many are in circulation yet). You probably won’t sell them for those crazy numbers, but even the “realistic” side of things is pretty amazing.

Think about it: pulling a $40 card after spending just $10 to get started in the game. That’s already mind-blowing. And if you’re like me, you might not even want to sell. A Gold Arcane or Black Foil Arcane is just too tempting to keep and level up. I know I’d struggle to part ways with one because I’d want the maximum level to play.

My Own Experience This Week

I’ve been running three accounts, mostly to try and grind my way up without spending too much. Frontier isn’t easy if you want to climb the leagues, so having extra accounts helps me collect the cards I need. That said, the Archons are still a challenge for me, Two of mine are stuck at level 1.

This week, I managed to get about 30–40 entries on each account. Sadly, no luck in the draw. I know I wasn’t the only one either. A lot of us walked away empty-handed, but that’s part of the grind. Better luck next week, right?

That’s what I enjoy: the grind itself. It’s fun, it’s rewarding, and it gives me something to aim for. I just hope I’ll still have time to put in the same effort once I get back to work next week.

Transparency on the Blockchain

One of my favorite parts about this system is how transparent it is. You can actually check who won what directly on the site. Everything’s on-chain, so nothing’s hidden. Another awesome move by the Splinterlands team.

I was browsing through the results for Draw #1, and it’s pretty cool to see exactly how the prizes were distributed. Even though I didn’t win this time, it still feels like a fair and exciting system because you know the rewards are real and provable.

And see this one won with only two entries its possible:

Final Thoughts

For me, the Weekly Frontier Draws are an excellent addition. They add more excitement to daily quests, give real chances for new players to hit something valuable, and keep the community engaged week after week.

Sure, I didn’t win this round, but I’ll keep grinding with my three accounts and see what happens next week. Who knows — maybe I’ll finally land that Gold Arcane or Black Foil Arcane. And when that happens, I’ll have the tough choice: sell it for a tidy profit, or keep it to push further up the ranks.

Either way, I’m loving this update. The grind is real, the rewards are shiny, and the future of Frontier looks exciting.

So… how did your results turn out this week?

See you all on the battlefield

Think the frontier draws have made the grind fun again, playing 2 accounts myself and in and out on a third as trying to still maintain modern and tournaments on my main account, hopefully something similar comes to modern, whole set of rewards cards that could have arcanes minted for them…. Keep them in modern only and they could even be non soulbound
