Splinterlands Grand Prix – A New Community Event

Welcome back all…
End of the year is always a bit hectic, and I was actually thinking to slow down on building new site parts for a bit 🤣 But then… on a Sunday evening, I got a DM from @blazekos.
My first thought was, “oh no, more work,” even though I really do enjoy developing stuff, it’s still a challenge to keep up with everything that’s going on.
He mentioned there was an upcoming event and they wanted some visuals to show the progress. something like a tournament with streamers.
Okay, now you got my attention. I showed him what I had already built with the multi-account dashboard, which already tracks and displays a lot of similar data (he probably already knew about that 🤣).
He liked it, but as always, the team wanted some customization, and who doesn’t, right?.
Then he sent me the title and some images, and that’s when it clicked This isn’t just a tournament. It’s a Grand Prix (its a race its a race for who knows 😎).

Streamers will be competing across multiple aspects of the game, mainly the battling part, and it’s designed to promote Splinterlands in a fun, competitive way.
That’s when I really got excited.
Later I heard that the streamers won’t be given assets directly to play with.
Instead, the community will support them through delegations, that’s just pure awesome.
This is what I love about Splinterlands. When I first joined, I was gifted a few packs from people like @bunsbagsandcaps and @clove71.
That gesture got me hooked, not just only the game but on the community spirit that surrounds it.
Over the years, I’ve seen so many moments where players come together to help each other, whether they’re in the same guild or just random players lending a hand. That’s what Splinterlands is built on, people supporting people.
Now, I don’t have a ton of unused assets lying around. My approach has always been to buy what I need to play and stay competitive. Which already takes some effort to keep up with! But what I can do is contribute in another way: by building tools and dashboards to support the event.
So that’s what I did.
After going back and forth with @blazekos on ideas and feedback, it led to something I’m really proud of: a brand-new website for the event:
👉 splinterlands-grand-prix.com
By the way, Splinterlands actually paid for the domain, which is awesome to see!

The site shows each participant, including how much has been delegated to them. It’s a cool way to keep track of who might need a bit more help.
If you see someone struggling, you can jump in and delegate some assets or cards directly to them.
Their IGN is displayed on the page, so supporting them is just one click away.

Some of the stats are already live, showing static data on delegations and rewards earned from playing. Once the tournament officially starts, the modes and leaderboards will start to fill up with live data, so you’ll be able to track exactly how each streamer performs.

And that’s another thing I love about this game, and Hive in general, everything is transparent. It’s all on the blockchain, so there’s no hiding anything 🤣
Here’s a small preview of what it’ll look like once the action kicks off:

There’s even a little surprise waiting for when the battles officially begin, you’ll notice it soon enough when it goes live.
I still have a few extra ideas I’d love to add, but honestly… time is always the biggest challenge. Still, I’ll see what I can do when I get a few spare hours to expand the site even further.
A big shoutout to @blazekos and @bulldog1205 for organizing this whole thing.
There are many ways to do marketing, paid interviews, sponsored streamers, ad campaigns and those are fine.
But what makes Splinterlands truly great is the community-driven approach.
Events like this are fun, collaborative, and genuine. They showcase not only the competitive side of the game but also how much heart and creativity lives within this community.
It’s the kind of thing that makes people want to be part of it to watch, to play, and to contribute.
Well, that’s me signing off for now. I hope you all like the new site and follow along as the Grand Prix unfolds.
I’ll try to sneak in some time to add more features later. For now I’m just happy to see this project come to life.
– See you all on the battlefield, Beaker 👋

P.S.: @blazekos: The event hasn’t started, yet already some feedback 😁. Here’s a small thought for the future: maybe next time, participants could play on their own accounts. That way, they can keep those accounts after the event and continue growing, posting Hive blogs or streaming their journey. It might be a bit much for completely new players, but it would be amazing for community growth long-term.
No baby fights alone!
The baby army stands with BabyBear weeeeeeeeeeeeee! :)
