Small Land Tool Update This Week

Hey all,

Today we have a short one. I did not have that much time to work on the land tool this week, but I still managed to squeeze in a few small improvements.

Nothing huge. Just some quality of life stuff that makes it a bit cleaner and more useful.

New Features

This week’s changes:

  • Labors luck unique owners view (requested by @keeegs)
  • Fix default light mode loading charts correctly
  • Make deed history view a bit more mobile friendly

Let’s walk through them one by one.

Labors Luck Unique Owners

This one is pretty simple.

Sometimes you do not want to know how many Labors Luck rolls are out there. You just want to know how many unique players actually have Labors Luck active on their land.

So now you can.
Currently there are 121 unique players with Labors Luck on their land.

This does not show how much each player owns. It only shows the number of unique owners.

You can find it here:
Region Overview → Summary

Small addition. But actually very nice to get a feel for adoption.

Thanks again to @keeegs for the suggestion.

Fix Default Light Mode Charts

This one was a bit funny.

I saw on a stream that someone had system default set to light mode. The site switched to light mode correctly, but the charts were still rendering in dark mode.

That looked… not great 😅

So I had to fix that.

Now if your system is set to light mode, the charts will also load properly in light mode. Everything should look consistent and clean.

Should now look something like this for light mode users:

Small fix. Big visual improvement.

Deed History Mobile Improvements

And then… the one that defeated me this week.

I noticed the deed history page was not behaving nicely on mobile devices. Especially because of the tables. On desktop everything looks fine. On mobile it was messy.

I thought this would be a quick patch.
Few hours max. Yeah… no.

I spent way more time on this than I planned and I am still not fully happy with the result.

The biggest issue is the horizontal scroll on smaller screens. Tables and mobile do not always like each other.

For now I decided to stop polishing and move on. It was already costing me too much time and there are too many other things on the list.

What did I manage to improve?

You can now at least select another deed on mobile. That was not possible before.

And if you rotate your phone to landscape, it actually looks… not that bad 😅

When I have more time I will probably redesign parts of this instead of patching it.
For now it is what it is.

Closing Notes

That is it for this week.
Small update. Still progress.
Hope you all enjoy the improvements even if it is not a massive release this time.

⚠️⚠️⚠️ ALERT ⚠️⚠️⚠️

HIVE coin is currently at a critically low liquidity. It is strongly suggested to withdraw your funds while you still can.

Is there a way to see if Stone plots are worth switching back on again without having to do it? I turned all mine off 2 months ago as your tool said they were loss making.

Yes you can do that here:
https://land.spl-stats.com/planning

Import your specific plot and change the worksite it would give you aa good estimate

Yeah seems to be positive according my calculations 🤣. Always a disclaimer.

But all my plots (except research) are currently net positive dec. Even my aura plot 🤔.

did you refresh your data.. i believe it fetches the actual resource prices for it (or cached for 1 hour).

image.png

Also how to do turn off these plots, no dec or remove power core?

image.png

in planning it would deliver a small profit... but can easily switch when grain or wood price changes.

I turned off several Wood plots and turned on all my Stone plots. The thing is.. the Wood plots live in a region that yields Grain, I don't have to import it. The Stone plots live in different regions where I do have to import. Is there a way to add import charges, to see if they are really loss making with these additional costs.

To disable them, I harvest, then remove the power core.

Thanks for your interface and all the work you have done, it's very handy!

planning wise this a bit harder, the planning tool does not take that into account that information i do not know on that page.

Your best friend then is this page (this is the page i use most often to see if i'm resource positive overval):
https://land.spl-stats.com/player-overview/overview

This takes into account the transfer fee when you have a negative in a certain region.

image.png

Here you see there is a 10% added to the grain to cover the transfer fee if you get it from other regions

Thanks, so if I switched off all the Stone plots.. and this..

.. goes up.. I know it's not worth it keeping them on?

well the tax income will never go up when plots are disabled this ins the income you get from your castle or keep (the tax you collect)
This data is based on nightly data (updated once per day) dec can change due to actual resource prices tough.

image.png

You own "Production Net Dec" can go up or down when you enable/disable plots

I'm not even sure I remember asking for this!

I would love somewhere for it to show average pp per plot with land cards. I manually do it from your base pp on land cards and using total labors luck cards
