Start of My Journey in Splinterlands

I started my journey in Splinterlands back in November 2021, and I still remember those early days like it was yesterday.

At the time, I was completely new to the world of crypto. It felt a bit daunting, to be honest—but what pulled me in was the game itself. I’ve always loved strategy games and card games. In the past, I played a lot of Hearthstone, MTG, and even games like Diablo. After taking a break from gaming, I was on the lookout for something fresh and exciting. That’s when I stumbled across Splinterlands videos on YouTube from folks like Bulldog, Dwayne and Aftersound.

After a couple of tutorials, I got curious. A few battles later, I was hooked.

I started off grinding in Bronze, learning the ropes. Despite the crypto side of things feeling a little intimidating at first, I was happy to discover how easy Splinterlands made it to get started on the Hive blockchain—and how incredibly helpful the community is. Of course, like with anything online, you still need to watch out for scams. But overall, I found a welcoming space filled with players willing to share advice and stories.

Time Spent in Splinterlands

These days, I spend 1–2 hours daily on ranked and brawl battles, checking markets. Every other day I hop in to claim my land resources, and once a month or so, I try to participate in a tournament just for fun (lately not many played unfortunately).

I also spend a few hours each week writing at least two blogs—mostly for Splinterlands promotions and community challenges. And when I’m not battling or writing, I’m building tools to help other players! I created the a few tools:

Goals for 2025

Looking ahead in 2025, I’ve got a few simple but meaningful goals:

  • I want to continue playing in Modern, even if it’s not at the highest level. I just enjoy the competition and the format.

  • My main goal is to complete the Rebellion Soulbound card set. Once that’s done, I think I’ll feel less pressure to earn glint and can enjoy the game more freely.

  • I plan to keep developing the tools I’ve started—but to be honest, keeping them up and running as the game evolves is getting more time-consuming. I try to remind myself that this is a hobby, and life outside of Splinterlands—family, work, personal health—always comes first.

  • I saved some $ for CA so planning to have go for a few pack there to be able to play modern at a lower level.

Looking Forward

There’s so much happening in Splinterlands lately—Land updates, new set about to be released, It really feels like we’re heading into an exciting new era for the game.

Thanks for reading my little story, and I hope to see you on the battlefield. Wishing you all the best in your own Splinterlands journey!

Yeah, development of software is really time consuming and once you develop something you have to maintain it.

Great tools, I use a couple of them quite often: BeeBalanced for my curation and tool that tracks my Splinterlands earnings and performance
