š ļø How Many Plots Are Being Neglected?
For those following my posts, you probably know Iāve been busy building a tool that gives all sorts of insights into Land in Splinterlands. Itās a passion project, and every time I add a new feature, I donāt just think about what I want to seeābut what others in the community might find helpful too.
This week, Iāve been working on the Alert section, to make it available and working again the in the new site.
The idea is simple. When a player enters their name, the tool will check if they have any plots that need attention. That means either the plot is 100% full (and theyāre missing out on resources if they donāt harvest), or the building is finished (and theyāve forgotten to start something new). It doesnāt apply to Castles or Keeps for nowājust your regular plots.
While testing this new alert system, I decided to do a one-time snapshot analysis. I wanted to see how many players currently have deeds that are full or have finished buildings and haven't acted on them yet.
Quick disclaimer: this is just a moment-in-time snapshot. By the time youāre reading this, some of these players may have already harvested or started new builds. And of course, if my data is off, feel free to let me know!
š What I Found⦠Was Kind of Shocking
I inspected all deeds across the land and flagged those that were either full or had a completed building just sitting there. The results surprised me more than I expected.
FULL PLOTS (Harvest Ready but Not Harvested)
Here are the top 10 users with full plots:
- cryp71x: 526

- star-shroud: 88
- icecreamtony: 68
- cinz: 68
In total over 1,243 users with at least one full plot just sitting idle!
FINISHED BUILDINGS
And here's the top 10 for players with buildings finished but not doing anything with them:
- cryp71x: 220
- michealb: 30

- khan.dayyanz: 9
- stever82: 8
In total, 302 users have at least one building completed and not put back to work.
š¤ So Whatās Going On?
Are people just stepping away from the game? Forgetting to check in? Or maybe, like our dear friend @mori-no-giant, they simply missed the alert. š
Iām not here to shame anyoneālife happens, and Splinterlands is a long game. But it does make me wonder how many resources are being left unclaimed or wasted.
š Whatās Coming Next?
In the next release of the tool, this new Alerts tab will be available when fetching data for a single user. Itās still a WIP (Work in Progress), but Iām excited to roll it out by the end of the week.
I'm still in doubt if i want to publish the complete list every day on the site (which is possible) or only for the persons who are actively using the site. Let me know what you think?
ā ļø Quick Tip for New Landowners!
One reminderādonāt wait until your plot is at 100% to harvest! Youāre likely losing production once it maxes out. Try to set a regular check-in routine or use a tracker tool like the one Iām building.
Closing Notes
I love digging into this data and sharing my findings with the community. Hopefully, some of the folks mentioned here see this and can act on it. I was tempted to tag everyone directly but decided not toāyou never know who might appreciate it or not.
If you liked this kind of insight, let me know. More features and data snapshots are coming soon!
See you on the battlefield š
Do you also want to be part of this amazing play to earn game consider using my refferal link.
Great idea to post this, I always wondered how many plots are sitting full or have finished buildings that are not working, the only thing missing from this data is how many plots don't even have buildings on it and the % of total plots that are not producing.
We already have that info:
All plots:
All Plot with PP:
Delegate Tokens and HP to Fallen Angels to earn weekly rewards!

Yeah keep on building, this is great!
I'm checking my plots twice a week, Sundays and Thursdays but I only have a couple, I can imagine something is easily missed if you have tons of plots to take care of
yep easily missed especially if you have either lots of accounts with land or land in many regions it could hard to manage..
is see some names that is did not expect š¤£
you might just want to tag them, nothing to blame or shame but they might actually be helped with knowing this
Yeah you are right, why not. If they don't like it they can ignore or let me know š
And please let me know if my data is/was off.

Neglected is a strong word.
I would say they are just on vacation and the cards on my plots are enjoying the harsh weather of Praetoria. š
𤣠Definitely agree on the wording thereāneglected sounds so harsh! Letās just say theyāre on an extended, unpaid vacation with zero benefits, basking in the unpredictable climate of Praetoria. š
Theyāve got time to reflect, reconnect with nature, and maybe even do some soul-searching between snowstorms and sandblasts. Who knowsāmaybe they'll come back stronger⦠or at least slightly more weathered! š
Yes!!! I like this description much better š
They will be slightly more weathered but well rested and ready to be productive again š
haha i only had them like tha for like a day i forgot to check them before bed.
Haha, I must say I was a bit surprised to see your name there! I figured it was probably just a temporary thingāwhich is why I included the disclaimer that it's just a snapshot in time and might not tell the full story.
That said, there are definitely some names that seem to have stepped away from Land, at least for now. Will be interesting to see how things shift over time!
It was something I wondered, you can see a lot of āgrainā plots on the market that obviously havenāt been claimed since 1.75 began as they would have converted. But that number is higher than I expected, I claim everyday so I can sell and reinvest my DEC but I can imagine people forgetting for a week if they donāt claim everyday
yep i surprised me too. I have considered making a view, where you see all deeds with incorrect worksite type so the grain plot before 1.75 that have not been transformed.
I toughed that is just a temporary thing of a few week but they are still here...
might include it into the site or do a quick offline analysis about it.
Would be interesting to see the āgrain on wrong plot typeā, is there any data for a last claimed date? That may be interesting too
Both items are in the data presenting the last part for many plots is a bit harder š¤£
Thanks for sharing! - @mango-juice

you won't find my name there, but trust me, I was there. There was a time I haven't claimed probably weeks at a time, and lost god know how much production. I was simply careless and not interested!
Nice, now the other 4050 land owners š¤£

Came in handy for me already when checking today before even seeing this thread. Im a newb and didnt realize my buildings that were under-construction wouldnt auto start harvesting. Even though they are grain plots, I need to add some extra grain to my balance to get things started š
Thanks for the work you do!
Wow, great to hear itās already been helpfulāthanks for taking the time to drop a comment!
Thanks for reminding me to check! š Splintertrends has a nice function where it alerts you with a Discord message when a card hits the price that you set it for - is something like that possible for land? Using your hive to sign in, and then get those alerts? Not that you need any work, but when I read "alarm" I thought of that.
Thanks for your work!
Hey @beelzael,
Thatās definitely a great idea! Technically, anything is possible to buildābut a Discord service involves a completely different skill set and code base. So for now, Iāll leave that aside.
That said, if anyone else wants to explore it, theyāre welcome to check out the code to see how I approached thingsāit could be a good starting point!
