Hive up over 100% today!! What's Up? Hive, that's what!

Hi everyone! I noticed on Hive Engine the SPS/HIVE price was significantly lower than I expected and was about to buy some (which I still may do as I just recently started playing splinterlands and learned about the SPS airdrop and staking). But the reason for the "drop" was due to a large jump in HIVE. Looking into this further, I wanted to see when the jump started since the price seems to have remained in the 0.68-0.70 range for a while.

Based on the chart below, it seems that there was a much higher than usual buying interest that started right after 5pm PST today.

Does anyone know what is driving the sudden interest in buying up Hive today? Based on the great experience I'm having with Splinterlands, I am starting to see the benefits of games running on Hive vs other blockchains but this big jump makes me think there some significant news or announcement that could be coming. I'd be interested to hear what others think. Thanks!
