Introduction to Art Inspired by Banned Books

Hi! My name is Amy Detwiler, the founder of Art inspired by Banned Books.

Recently, there has been a lot of news about movements to ban books. One night, I had a dream that I had bought bannedbooks.art and had created a project to raise awareness of the content of banned books. When the domain was actually available for sale when I looked the next day; I decided to buy the domain and try my best to live up to my dreams!

What is the purpose of banning books? To kill the conversation.
How do we counter this? Art!

Art inspired by Banned Books is a virtual art gallery that highlights the banned themes from the featured banned book of the month!

The tickets to the gallery can be bought here are good for attending the gallery opening event, and for privileged access to the gallery before it is opened to the public. All of the profits will be going to a rotating group of charities, based off of the theme of banned book.

The first month is The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe. The first charities that the gallery patrons can choose from are:

  • International Rescue Committee - helps refugees get access to healthcare and education.
  • Voices of Children - provides art therapy to children that have survived war conflicts.
  • Feed the Children - provides food relief to families around the world.

Hi I saw your #introduceyourself blog and its nice to meet you.
Blogging is what its all about on this blockchain. The best part is that you could earn hive crypto, but its not the most important. I have been here for a while and love it!
